Look what the brown box dropped off?

Benjamin Kratos .25

Going to do a comparison between two similar priced pcp. All three are in .25

I'm going to throughly clean the Kratos and get some chronograph numbers tonight and then see how it shoots at 50 yards. I already shot the Mrod at 50 yards a few hours ago and it did really good. I haven't shot the mrod in a long time and it really is a good gun.

I really enjoy my Kratos 25. I switched out the steel tank for a cf tank and the first part of Airgun detective video trigger job, adjusting the sear screw so that it now works and breaks at 1.5 lbs. I have not exchanged the oem spring for a shortened ball point ink pen spring or polished the parts yet because 1.5 lb is where most of my rifles are at.

The power adjustment knob on mine takes it from 400 FPS to 880 FPS with AA’s version of the Kings’. I turn it up to 500 FPS shooting at 10 yards for best stability.

Changing out the bottle to a cf bottle requires some sanding of the stocks’ barrel channel.

It shoots very well at 10 yards, but I realize many of you could do as well with darts at that range.

Enjoy, it is a great platform.

It took me all evening but I have some chrony numbers for the Kratos. I cleaned the barrel really good before I started everything so tomorrow I'm going to clean the barrel really good before I test out each pellet at 50 yards. I will only put the better set of numbers between the best fill pressures.

From just what I saw after shooting over the chronograph, I'm a little disappointed in the numbers. IMO the Kratos is not much better then the Mrod .25. The Kratos is factory stock and I'm hoping I'll get better numbers once I figure out how to adjust the gun. I do have a 480 cc CF bottle and this should help with shot count a little bit.

Another problem worth mentioning is the mag. After shot number 7, the mag will rotate hard enough to move the mag when you cock the gun. Several times the mag would move to where you won't be able to push the probe forward. Here are several pictures explaining what I mean:

Here is the mag with the cocking handle closed

Now here is the cocking handle open and the mag has moved out just a little

I solved the problem by taping the mag in place so it doesn't move out. It looks getto but it works.

Your ES and SD looks pretty good. Is it the low shot count that is bugging you?

What is the volume on your bottle? Can you detect hammer bounce on the shot cycle?

The kratos does have good numbers. I'm just a little disappointed it didnt preform as good as the Nemesis. I could tell there was a lot of hammer bounce and the valve is not as efficient. Maybe that was one of Crossman's demands was to put there inefficient valves and hammer to make there own. I did get a good deal from AOA but you still get what you pay for. If I would've bought it at the current price right now ($700), I would've been very upset because a used streamline/wildcat is a lot better gun at this price point. I haven't shot the gun outside yet so my faith in gun might be restored.

I have not experienced what you have but mine is a 22. Does it do that with both magazines?

Your numbers appear better than any of my 25 cal Marauders.

I would shoot it over the chrony at a 50 yard target at the same time kill 2 birds with one stone why waste pellets and air and time?

Recemtly bought the big monster version of the FX chrony called Labrador (Lab Radar) with airgun microphone plug in just gotta figure out a stand for it.

Wyshadow,

I have that sound also, I believe it to be bottle ping. My Marauders did have hammer bounce, it was a bbbbrrrt sound, not at all what I hear on my Kratos.

I briefly thought about getting the Huma bottle regulator they made for another Ktal bottle gun, but not knowing if it would work on the Kratos, that and not wanting to spend the money to find out. The other reason is I have a regulated Skyhawk that is in parts in a box and at the velocity I shoot at, it gives numbers that would make you think you had found a regulated gun that would not keep you up nights worrying about it giving you grief.

Odoyle, my Fx pocket chronograph is 20 FPS slower than what my ex-Caldwell was or maybe that is the other way around, but two things I do not like about the Fx is that it does not work half the time and it will not record over 1100 FPS.

Does anyone know if Darkos’ Kral magazine will work in these rebranded Benjamin/Krals?
