N/A Looking for a compact .22 PCP for woods walking

I can help you with the rule out. The P2 in compact is exactly what you’re looking for. I have one. But there’s a but. Mine is also a .30 and .25 full size. Because of its power capability and how easy it is to jump from caliber to caliber plus barrel lengths, it might not be your cute little pellet woods walker long. When you switch calibers or barrel length, all you need is your reg setting jotted down in your notes to return it to exactly how it was shooting before. A Uragan compact would be perfect. And deadly. But when you bump the reg up to get your 18’s going 900, you are going to be cutting it close on the shot count. Another demon you face with the Uragan is it will shoot slugs. Yes, I have one. Along with this monkey on your back you face a real horrible shot count and having to install a larger bottle.
Seems similar to my Panthera Hunter Compact in .22. I have a 480cc bottle shooting 21gr slugs at 900fps. Only 60 shots before it falls off the reg. Again that’s 37 fpe off of a 300mm barrel. lol. I’m going to try some 23gr slugs.

I ended up ordering a Krait Standard in .22 from Talon Tunes. Not sure about how I feel about buying a new gun at full pricing knowing the Krait 2 is in the works. Lol.
If the gun does everything you want and performs to your expectations, don’t even read or especially watch anything about a Krait 2 when or if they ever make one. That way you’ll feel just fine about paying full price. After owning a Krait, I know what improvements I would make if I was one of their engineers. They are not ground breaking or game changing. If you’re gonna be a set it and forget it pellet shooter, you’ll be fine. But keep an eye on where the charging handle thing rides on the barrel. My barrel was getting chewed up.

How’s the BRK Ghost carbine version? Anyone with experience there?
My Ghost Carbine is heavy to me for a walkabout gun. With a small scope its possible but with a 6-24x50mm scope atop the weight adds up… I enjoy my Pathfinder more as a woods walker. Either way a good sling makes a difference and the weight of any rig is relative to who is doing the toting…

Got any pictures? What did you do to fix it from further damage?

If length is critical to you, so be it, but it's something I've never understood. Unless you're crawling through briar thickets, what does it really matter? Example, my Taipan Veteran meets your length criteria. But, I'd much rather carry my lighter and longer Revere. For me, short, boxy bullpups are much more difficult to handle and shoot (well) in the woods, compared to a traditional sporter style rifle. But I digress. It's a personal preference, and I wish you luck in your search.

In my neck of the woods, it is very thick. Especially small game opener in September when leaves and brushes are still fully alive. Here’s some pictures stumbling upon a whitetail scrape.

The Krait will do you well it would be One of my preferes choice, but like jace said an Uragan2/3 in CF would be great for that, its sturdy. I love mine but its on 600 not compact.

Personally I just use my GK1 for wood walking. Its really so light thats on a completly other level for carry around, for 30/50yds its perfect, but for 80yds maybe its a bit too far away? I just love this thing, ever since I bought it my FX dreamline (really light build) as not seen daylight....
