Looking for current gen huben k1 .25 slug feedback

I love my gen 5 huben k1 (.22) so much. I'm considering getting one of the current gen .25s with the wood stock.

I have a swaging press to make my own slugs and once I had the appropriate die that's what I would be doing. Dont really want to have to use pellets.

Can anyone tell me how it does with slugs? I would be ok with 1" groups @ 50 yards and as bad as 2.5" @ 100, but much worse than that and maybe not so much. I have heard some say that it doesnt shoot slugs well

Not with the LW barrel. Just no luck, no matter the tune. You have to change to a JT barrel. Kelly at Kraz cool will do it for you before he sends the gun to you.

Ok. I'm talking to him now. I've had other people tell me it shoots slugs well, none mentioned changing barrels though.

When I first saw them at the IWA in Germany several years ago, the owner/engineer had a die set that was offered as an option to make your own. The rifle was DESIGNED to shoot slugs and it took months for them to find a way to shoot pellets accurately. It was only offered in 22 at the time but hard for me to believe that one wouldn't shoot slugs. Too many posters here that say otherwise.

Yes I actually used to have that swaging die, and yes, the slugs it made were the best thing I ever shot out of the huben. Unfortunately the dies were poor quality and I broke two of them. They were also slow to use. Now I have a corbin swaging press and while the slugs it makes arent as good, (in terms of efficiency, they take more air pressure to get the same FPE as the huben ones even at the same weight, but the accuracy is comparable) they're much faster to make and the die is much more robust. I do still have about 450 of the huben slugs that I hold onto for... well idk I'll probably never shoot them, because i cant make more

It's looking like slugs are possible. If I get the .25, the plan is to get another die to make my own .25 slugs just like I do with my 22. Also getting a die to make my own .457 slugs for my aea challenger bullpup. Makes ammo cost close to negligible after the initial investment.



But yeah the .22s I've heard all shoot slugs well and always have but some are saying the newest .25s in particular do not or do not without a barrel swap
