Looking for good dovetail to picatinny mounts

I have a set of the BKL adapter mounts, and, like all the BKL products I have tried, the quality is very good. But, they have been too high for my applications. Rather, I have used the J&P delrin adapters and have been very pleased with them. They are made specifically for the Burris Signature Z ring, but I expect they will work with other Weaver/Picatinny rings. They add only .060" height. Regarding the "junk" description of the UTG adapter above, I have no experience with it, but it seems that description may be extreme. It might not be a highly precision piece, but it's purpose is simple. If the ring holds fast when clamped onto it, that would seem satisfactory to me. But as I said, no personal experience with it.

Bob O hit the nail on the center of the forehead !!! UTG stuff for the most part ..... SCREW IT ...For the whole part are a waste . Money you should at least have the decency to wipe your butt with before you spend it .

Bob I'm sure is like me and even it it seems like a " bargain " ...Waiting on a new shiny turd to arrive in the mail is not exactly what most dudes want to experience....ESPECIALLY since it's not like Pyramid Air is right down the street .

Only thing I hate worse than bad pic , is a bad scope mount . UTG has disappointed my one eyed ass for the last time

Still like mine

Joe....LOL!!!

Being serious....Imold, do those adapters make your scope rings tilt like you see in my pic?

That larger piece might be of better quality and construction than the little snap in adapters.....sure looks like it anyway.

I actually own both Bob. The “large” single adapter is pretty dang solid. Clamps on with 4 screws. I also liked that it raised my scope to the hight I wanted as well as better options for forwards or rearward eye relieve. & yes, the snap ins are garbage.

Lol! there is definitely a benefit to having you “go first” on our new XS’s...I found Nced’s suggestions very helpful but had an epiphany about the magazine and clearance so the single rail had to go by the wayside.

I’m considering Burris Signature XTRs but they only fit a Pic/Weaver interface so I was up to all hours last night researching adapters. UTG’s snap-ins were high on the list until I found the BKL Two piece adapters*. If I go this route I’d select the best Burris XTR ring height (3 heights, 1”, 1.25” & 1.50”) to get the scope to my best eye level and still keep magazine clearance**.

Let me know if the BKL adapters have any kind of a scope stop post feature. Just curious. I don’t think so and I’m not sure it’s necessary on the XS’s but I think the rifle receiver comes pre tapped for a stop doesn’t it?

*but I had my own doubts now comically confirmed by Joes comments, lmao!

My latest UTG purchases have been a couple "UTG Leapers MNT-DTW145 Inc, Dovetail to Picatinny Rail Adaptor".

Even though the MNT-DT145s cost me under $16 each with free shipping, I was impressed with the quality, sooooooo........ ALL UTG/Leapers scope mounting hardware isn't junk!

Matter of fact, the UTG adapter plus set of Weaver Quad Lock rings only cost a bit over $25 and they work better than the one piece BKL I bought for about $60!

I've been using an MNT--DTW145 on a spring gun for two years now. It clamps tight and does not move, even when used without the stop screw. I just ordered two more to convert some more guns.

It does raise the scope up some, so best used with low mounts. The low cost UTG rings are better than a lot of the others i have tried, and they make a few different types depending on the desired cost/quality. The Picatinny rings that they supply with many of their scopes work well enough. But they make better ones as well.
