Hey guys it's been awhile. Yes I'm good just been taking a break again like the last few winters. This one has been very hard weather wise on us for the dairy but we're hanging on.

Anyways at a New Years party the other day I had 2 people asking about airguns. They wanted my opinion on what would be a good gun in the $1000-$1500 range to get into. Something just to shoot and not need to mess around with.

Obviously I'm biased and think Taipan. But I'd love some other options out there in that price range that are solid and dependable. Anything new come out recently? I don't think they'd want used even though I mentioned it's a big savings over new usually.

Good suggestion I forgot about those. Yeah I want a list of probably 6 to choose from in all different forms to suit what they would like.

This is a pretty open and broad question amigo.

To narrow it sown
1) what is the user's Primary function, hunting, plinking, or precision target?
2) what is the user wanting as far as preferred caliber?
3) preference as far as bullpup and traditional?

FX DRS Classic, solid simple design. Easy to setup. It can be setup to shoot pellets or slugs.
Rifles with a 700mm barrel come with slug liners and SHP plenum to shoot slugs if thats what you like to shoot.
Both of my DRS rifles are extremely accurate !

Also consider Fx Dreamline clasic.
Mine is awesome.Butter smooth and very accurate.That also left you with some change for decent optic.

And optics and....and....and.... that pesky rabbit hole has a strange way to empty bank accounts. Of course with a friend close by with a compressor they may not need their own.

I already have 12 fpe .177 s 510 carbine but regulated carbine 30 fpe .22 would be nice.

Taipan or Krait ... HW100 or AAS510. So many, but those are the ones I think about right away. I had to have semi auto, otherwise that's my picks.

My vote would be for a Daystate Revere, especially at the current sale prices at AoA. Absolutely well-built, reliable and accurate. There is not a lot to mess with, so very little to go wrong.

Dillon! I hope the family is doing well! Besides Taipan, I would recommend RAW (used), Brocock BRK series (used), FX Royale/Boss and a Daystate Revere. All these platforms are simple, robust, reliable and accurate as you know.

Tony still has a couple new Taipan Veteran Gen 1 in 22/25Cal for $1495.

Recent released models, the FX DRS might be a good option within the budget. A nice wood stock and very traditional looking design under $1200.

The unregulated are going for 900 new. That's a friggin steal! Drop in your own Huma if you need and save big.

The m60b is a great choice for keeping a tighter budget. Lord k own you need a fill source and an optic.

I'd suggest sticking to 22 or 25 cal with that though. The 30 cal and 357 are air hogs, and not enough power without work to justify the ammo/air use.

Don't forget about AGT airguns, Uragan, Vxen and Vulcans are great shooter and dependable.
