Looks like its a buyers market

I got a couple guys interested in airguns right now and have been keeping an eye on some good deals in the classifieds. Looks like now is the time to be looking as there are quite a few good deals in the classifieds and still available. Yes there still are the outrageous ones but honestly quite a few good deals. Not the best time to be selling one I can see. And yes I understand the economy. But it used to be scour the classifieds and if you find a decent deal it was gone in a few minutes. Not anymore.

I think the market is somewhat saturated too. Every year or less, there have been a flurry of new models that fueled the fire, but that has died down. There are lots of low priced airguns with all the features of the high priced stuff we’ve been buying that’s flooding the market.

The truth is, from my experience I can get 10% to 15% all day long from a dealer just by simply contacting them......I watched a rifle for over a year and got 23% off so, I ordered it and it included free shipping.

I found a really nice scope I wanted 1hr drive my me (Not from this forum) guy wanted $500. I checked on line and could get the exact same unit for $506, I gave the link to the seller and his reply was "LOL, make me an offer"?......I made no offer and blocked him instead!

For me, purchasing used has never panned out for me. Have patience watch for sales, or contact the dealer and purchase new and receive a warranty!
JMHO!

You all must have better resources to work with compared to the classifieds. Which dealers are you getting these so-called awesome deals? Not AoA, PA, Utah, EDgun, Tunes ... No deals there? Lets see, I'm in about year 3 to 4 into this. So these shows, never seen or heard of one in SD? If I were to fly or drive to one ... savings out the door. Something sounds off IMHO.

You don't think these are good enough deals? ROFL!

If I had $1,500 just laying around I'd be all over that RTI P3.

But I'd need to sell a couple older guns to make room. Given the market for older guns right now that ain't happening without some steep discounts. Then I'd be short cash probably.

Not that I need another rifle. Too many to shoot now.

If more folks invested into airguns similar to how professionals purchase TOOLS .... This nonsense of gun of the month models would abruptly slow down & quality Tools/Guns would still command top dollar.
Instead ... AG's are viewed more as Toys than Tools for many & as we know all too well ... Boyz like Toyz  (y)

Okay, you don't have the crazy amount of cash for these guns.

Here is another example, walk into the store and talk to the manager. Tell them you won't use credit or debit cards and reach into your back pocket and pull out the greenbacks. No shipping and zero effort on their end and they will give minimum 15% off. I've done this my entire life. Do this and purchase anything you want. ANYTHING!

This isn't meant to be a political statement, but I would hold on selling for a while. Prices could be going up drastically...very soon.
We have no idea what is going to happen to prices in the next few weeks.
I will predict that the American built airguns will have increased sales in product and parts......The out of country airguns will be subject to heavy tariff including parts. My guess, non domestic airguns will drop in price?

Actually I think the opposite. With all the new guns coming on the market, especially the lower priced but full featured guns, the high end is going to be under a lot of pressure. That will cascade into the used market. Who is going to pay $1200 or more used when a new gun of equitable class is selling new under $1,000. Avenge XL, Snowpeak Max 1 for just a couple of examples.

I know there was a time (pre 2008) Skout made their own paintball guns in house. Most companies now have the parts made in Taiwan and then assembled (in house). I can't say for sure if Skout still cuts their own parts.

If history is any clue, the domestic production will raise their prices too. First bigger margins and secondly the raw material costs will also increase due to said tariffs.

Of course the other historical data point to remember, tariffs don't work. In fact they have been known to hurt the economy to the point of being one of the triggers to the Great Depression.

Then the fun begins with retaliatory tariffs and the cascading effects across the global economy.

I happen to know a lot about the economy and the World Banking System, I'd love to get into but I feel we have gone too far already due to the forum rules?
