What about hammer? Did you change the hammer at all?

I'm somewhat new to the tuning game but the way I understand it is that it's a balance between reg and hammer spring settings. I understand it as, after you adjust the reg you'll want to adjust the HS to the knee then back off just a tad. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, that sounds about right. If you think of the regulator as a door and the pressure inside the tank as a force holding the door closed, the more force being used to hold the door closed will require a stronger hit from the hammer to open it. Very crude example but it works

Yep, then you have to consider dwell time. I think that is where port size comes into play. That pressure has to get through and into the barrel. Like I said.. I'm new to this and trying to absorb it all.

This spreadsheet is probably the best tuning tool you'll find.
