Umarex Lost Zelos O ring battle

troubles started with this eBay plenum. Couldn’t get one of the three joints to seal. Then took bottle off. That hasn’t held full air since.
So tube back on and got the plenum to hold air. It’s actually the Huben leaking. Have had a dozen 7x1.5 and tried lots more. These are amzon
oring kits . It’ll be nice to play with the other guns.

The Amazon oring kits are often 50-70 durometer hardness. they will pop like crazy under high pressure. Sometimes you'll get lucky and one will hold. On amazon you can get Captain Oring "paintbal o ring kit" of 90duro has Nitrile/nbr, Urethane, And fluorine orings. I use these. They work EVERY TIME. I had a MURDER of a bad time with the plenum to valve connector seal on the Snowpeak P35x. the Amazon "75a durometer NBR oring kit" the 18/14/2s were blowing out like a hezbollah beeper. Pop in the CO'ring 90 and Voila. hasn't lost a single bar since.

I'm learning here , so the plenum extension I see is the thing that looks like a magazine sticking down. This gives things like a big slug more air volume , or power. Ok Buddy listen you are not the first one to complain about the Huben Zelos bottle valve regulator having issues. I did not get one because of this. I got the c88 bottle adapter for $50 it works great , but does not have the pin valve. But now that I have that Tuxing twin I just don't care it is just a few min to fill the 500 cc bottle. If I was younger , and still hunting my upgrades would be a Hydration pack never had those when I was. Kid. , and I would wear a tethered carbon fiber tank on my back for my PCP.

The hubens check valve orings are crap often. I had 2 huben bottle regs on other guns, both times the check valve orings failed and a slow barely audible leak out of the foster fill nipple. Get quality rings for the check valve and it'll never happen again.
Thanks Rabbit , maybe I'll scoop up a Huben for my Zelos as well. Now that I know this.

If you want. I used the c88 bottle adapter. the sole reason for using huben was notos Builds. The dream valve or a valve or huben cricket dropblock/reg at the time took 30-60 days to arrive but the huben bottle reg was available stateside. The notos had no reg pressure gauge. The zelos reg is super decent and has its own gauge.

Yes the great thing about the new Huben Zelos regulated bottle adapter is the fact you can fill to 4,500 then set reg just above whatever the Zelos adj reg is set to , and get a lot more shots that way ,but now that I learned from you about the true difference in O rings
I'm wanting to get that Huben for my Zelos again , and a 700 cc bottle like Blackdog , so I have nice long shooting sessions.😁

I've reverted back to tube guns. I'm a compressor filler for the most part. Tubes make the experience more pleasant . I'm also past my search for ever more power. A good solid tune get's the most of a tube. My 35x is doing about 45-50 shots at 35.4 foot pounds with the HP slugs and 34.6 with the 18.1s. the Katran 177 is shooting JSB beasts at a respectable power getting damn near 90 shots from a 265b fill. Tubes are usually a good bit lighter and make for a more mobile, better looking (IMO) package.

I hear ya, the Huben , the bottle, the plenum All unnecessary. Just gadgets to buy and install and fight with.
Especially since 2 compressors and usually a filled 9 and 6.8 tank within 20 feet.
