I love the power and SL on the new .30 gauntlet but man is the weight and length a bummer. Is there any other under 1k rifles in .30 or bigger that compare?

JTS Airacuda Max in .30, but 14 shots per 3500psi fill isn't much. Recommend checking AGN archives for concerns regarding the platform before considering purchase. WM

You can shave 2lbs off the weight by getting the terminator kit for it.
For the money the only thing that would compare at the same or near price would be the AEA 30's old and new.

following along. debating spending the $ on a used FX in .30 or .357 or buying an Gauntlet SL2 in .30 new. not sure I'm dialed enough for the tuning an FX requires

Even a used fx will be significantly more expensive than the g2. I have a maverick 600mm .30. Really wasn’t much to tune. Bottom the internal adjuster screw clockwise. Reg set to 120. Run power wheel on 4 or 5 depending on temp with 44.75 (just under 900 fps). Power wheel 5 with 50 gr pellets for 870. Super accurate and consistent shot to shot velocity.

Get a Maverick VP .30 and I tuned mine in an hour. It's pushing 50gr H&N Slugs II at 930fps.
