Bored and feeling a little chatty today so before I muddy up someone else's or my own unrelated thread here's my Low Budget Icon.
Picked up during the Christmas sale like I'm sure many others did. Since it was so cheap I wanted to keep it cheap.
Took it apart first day of course. The power comes from drilling the valve port and transfer port to 5/32. I also removed the brass shim on the valve poppet which likely increased the dwell some. I also enlarged the hole behind the poppet through which the stem passes as I always do. This takes care so that the sealing surface doesnt get chewed up and end up with a leak. I am not sure what size the bit was but just barely larger than the factory made it.
Stock shortened, shaped and painted coyote tan, barrel band repositioned forward,
Buck Rail 1/2x20 moderator with industrial heat shrink to make it more field friendly.
Trigger job with rc bearing and filed sear to match.
Feel free to post up your Icons and mods. Pics or it didn't happen.
