Lube for air bottle/cylinder threads for PCP

I was curious on what people have used to lubricate the threads on the male nipple where the air bottle/cylinder screws on to the gun. I have a FX Royale with the 500cc bottle and I just want to prevent galling in the threads if or when it ever happens.

CJ, I just ran across your post/question for lube. I been over a month, I two have wondered on different lubes. Galling in my past has been a Issue when you have different types of materials such as mild steel and aluminum matted together by screwing or press fit accompanied with stress. If I were in your boat I'd us liquid Teflon sparing. Monte

I have used Scuba tanks for years and always apply "Dow Corning 111 Compound" to the threads to keep the valves from sticking. We also use this on all O-rings used in regs and valves. I use it in my guns as well. Little dab will do you. I have a 5.3oz tube that I bought years ago and it is still over half full. Hope this helps.

Silicone based lubricant ONLY such as the Dow Corning or Crosman "Silicone Chamber Oil". All hydrocarbon based lubricants can and will diesel under enough pressure.
