I have some Ballistol sp? and some Napier cleaning fluid for the barrel. Could either one of those be used for lubing pellets?

Yes some people use either of those. Just experiment and see if your gun likes one or the other or not.

You could use these or get some pellet lube as suggested by linsfreak. If.your accuracy improves then great. It's also possible that you may find no change in accuracy or a slight deterioration in accuracy. Some barrels don't like lubed pellets. Use very little oil. Not more than 2 drops for a tin.
If your gun is already accurate then I would suggest leaving it the way it is.

A lot of people use Slick 50 spray also. A good way to use any is to put one or 2 drops in a zip lock bag then put your pellets in and gently roll them around until all are coated. I would suggest just trying 25 or so and compare to the non lubed. If your gun dont like them then you havent wasted a whole tin of pellets

AZ: Is it normal to clean the barrel so often ? I don't do BR, so have no experience of the sport.
Only with high power air guns have I found the need to clean frequently, due to leading up of the choke.

Tried the Biallastol yesterday for lubing the pellets. Opened up the groups on average by .075 over 5 groups. So that's out. I'll try the Air Venturi MP-5 next and see.

My last time out at the range taught me a lesson. I had decided to clean and lube a tin of 18.13 gr pellets ready for the shoot. At the range I set my target at 100 meters and while loading my mag I noticed the pellets were a little on the oily side, as a result the groups 1 & 2 were disgusting. I took the time to roll the pellets in a cloth and pull a tight fitting patch through three times. My next group went down considerably, five shots out of six measured .627 center to center, with the fifth almost one inch high and a little right [shooter error and I knew it] So when folk say "no more than two drops of oil." they're speaking from experience.
I have to give BSA all the credit because that Sportsman H.V in .22 is a pleasure to shoot. The perfect introduction into the world of PCP shooting.

I think I put too much Ballistol in the foam tin liner. I'll try again with much less and with the pledge/oven method as well. Part of the fun it trial and error and finding what works.
