Just like the title says; what speeds are you M3 Compact 30 guys shooting the FX Hybrids at?
I'm not too sure a 500mm barrel will see speeds like that in my elevation. Right now I have mine tuned with the 1st reg on 200, 2nd reg on 160, power wheel on 16, micro on 5 and I barely hit 920fps. I'm hoping that's enough to allow the FX Hybrids to reach their full potential because this rig is strictly a quick grab backdoor coyote gun. I've been getting a lot of coyotes passing through my yard late at night lately.I’ll be playing with this myself soon, but on my 600mm I found they liked 960fps. That’s a little hot for a compact though. It would be a pretty violent shot cycle. I would start at 920 and work up.
I have been shooting the Hybrids out of my Maverick at 930fps and they did a great job, so I think you are fine. I just did a tweak for more power since I got a larger air bottle, and now I'm pushing 955fps out of a 600mm barrel, but groups opened up too much. I am gonna try and install the carbon fiber liner again and see if this tightens things up.I'm not too sure a 500mm barrel will see speeds like that in my elevation. I don't think that I'm chasing more power for the sake of chasing more power. I thinks it's more that I chose the FX Hybrid to begin with and was told today by the Tech at FX that the Hybrids optimal performance is found at 940fps, so I'm trying to achieve that. I went with the M3 Compact because a Compact is quicker and easier to grab by my backdoor when the coyotes are out there than say if I try to grab my M3 Sniper. I usually have less than 30 seconds to get out of bed, grab the gun, quietly open the door, aim, and take the shot. This rig is being built for that specific scenario. I'll put a tungsten hammer in there and whether or not it will exceed 940fps I will tune it for the 940 and leave it.If the accuracy is there at 920 then leave it be. Here’s a reason why you need to take a deep breath from the always chasing more that comes along with PCP’s. My Impact is a .25, not a compact, and it’s shooting 32gr at 1,050fps. It’s pretty devastating on everything I shoot with it. Your tiny little .30 has me beat with FPE and bullet mass. Gotta know when to say when. If you believe you need 940,950,970, that’s what 600mm barrels are for. Your gun is perfectly suited for your needs if it’s accurate.

When I originally made this thread on Sunday, I asked the question because I thought maybe something wasn't right with my new rifle because my M3 Sniper in 30 cal makes quite a bit higher speeds easier. But, turns out, when it comes to barrels and fps, length matters lol. Anyway, thank you everyone for your responses, I appreciate it.
I'm just running the barrel that came with it.Hi
The tungsten hammer is very heavy, it is for working with very high regulator pressures, I don't know if it will work well on a short barrel, I would start with a custom hammer with less weight. Just my opinion.
What barrel are you shooting hybrids with stx or stx heavy?

Enkey
I am in the process of setting my new M3 .30 Compact as well. My .30 Compact Maverick loves the 44.5 hybrids at 930-938 with a tungsten hammer. It was tuned by Ken Hicks @ SPAW down in Florida. Great service and a wicked fast turn around time. He worked on it over Thanksgiving weekend! Thanks KenI'm just running the barrel that came with it.
