FX M3 here we go again!!!

OK so after a year and adding @mubhaur plenum piece and eliminating 1st regulator my .22cal 600mm m3 was a dream 21grn H+N at 900fps lazer out to 100yrds this continued for thousands of rnds then I started having accuracy issues and when chronied velocity had dropped to 860fps retuned to 900 which held for a couple of tests and went shooting same thing each retune I'm moveing valve adjuster further out then it happens again replaced valve adjuster rod and loctighted end C52 part tuned great went shooting problem back checked C52 right at 6mm...HELP I'm at the end of my rope with this gun!!!!!

First of all I thank you for using my part and an update that it worked well.

FX Impact is a bit complicated gun.

A few things are to be analysed. Why the threads of valve rod gone bad?

Mostly we don't use a bit strong lock tight on the rod and the front part. Resultantly the lock tight breaks and all the hammer thrust is borne by the threads and they get week.

I have shot thousands of shots from my M3 and there is no such problem.

The only problem I felt is the 1st regulator complicates the things as it doesn't behave constantly often.

IIf I could have your gun in my hands I might had been able to pin point the issue and fix it.

You need to leave it for some time and just think what things may be causing such issues.

If you still feel that you can't fix it, you can send it to some good tuner or to FX for service.

Keep the moral high and your persistency will make you win.

Best of luck.

Thanx good to know I was kind of leaning that way because I had noticed some abrasion on it when I replaced the valve rod (plenum O ring)...I had a similar problem a while back n it was the balls in the valve cap they had collapsed but their fine now its strange it will be a perfect tune for about one magazine then bam velocity drops by 30fps something constricting during shot cycle and can only be corrected by rotating valve adjuster I was sure it was C52 but its not I proved it

If you let the gun sit, will the velocity be back to normal the next day for one mag?

On a separate issue. If you or anyone is smashing those rubber balls, you are relying on them too much to control your dwell. A spring that’s too soft or not using enough reg pressure will lead to this prematurely. Yes, a guy can get a dandy tune with the knob turned in far enough that the 52 is blowing through its stroke and relying on the rubber balls. But it’s a tune that is constantly degrading as the balls flatten. I won’t tune any of my guns that way.

You should use FX made spring. Further there are some issues in valve adjuster design which I have highlighted in one of my videos.

Link is below might be helpful.

Thanx for all your replies will be replacing Orings today and no once gun loses velocity it stays gone and I eventually will walk adjuster above line 4 and I scream uncle...I'm set at 110 bar with my single regulator which I felt was on the high side for .22 but it enabled me to have lower hammer #'s and a very quiet gentle shot cycle will experiment today and report my findings out Snook fishing now so it might be late or possibly tomorrow....

I’m actually sitting in my tree bow hunting right now. Here’s what I would do because when I start with any of my M3’s, I jot down the numbers I get as I work the gun up, then as I bring it back down. Once you find your desired hammer setting, I hope at this point you’re still running the valve wide open, write down that speed before you touch the valve knob. Now if you ever have a weird issue, you can just open the valve and see if you still at your targeted starting speed for that reg setting. If you are, then it’s valve related. If your gun is now slower with the valve wide open, we have to look elsewhere.

Problem solved thanx to @Vetmx coaching....replaced Orings on each side of transfer port and breech seal next established a new tune based solely on hammer spring adjustment ended up with the most efficient lightest tune the gun has ever had valve adjuster knob now lives right on line 4 job of C52 now ezpeze quiet soft shooting and super accurate...thanx for all your responses

On above settings with 100 bars 2nd regulator I have tuned it to 940 fps with 18.13 grain jsb .22 pellets.

At same 100 bars regulator pressure I can go up to 1060fps with the same pellets by increasing power wheel and opening valve adjuster.

This is my max with 600mm barrel.

My M3 is a bit modified.

These results are with single hole transfer port and regular pellet probe.
