FX M4 impact issues

I had to chuckle when I read “I woke up with the idea”. I too get struck at odd times with ideas. I try to get as much down on paper or talking into my phone before the idea starts to fade because of life.

A couple years ago I was consumed by having every gun I owned needing to have a bee-bop integrated into its shroud. Was a shroud building fool. But machining internals was way more of a PITA than guys printing them. I finally just submitted to the Hollywood sniper look and have been lucky enough to find something that works. But when I get a new gun it’s looks like a wine tasting with all the units lined up to test. I hope you build something that works awesome.
I think it's a personality type too. I think in wire frame Autocad a lot. I once woke up with a build idea for a break action rimfire from scrap materials and parts, fully formed. It took 110 hours of machining and woodwork but I built my own goofy single shot with some exceedingly rare and expensive macasar ebony furniture. (gifted the wood).

This should give some insights into my ranting posts. 😁

I'd really like to know what the verdict is on your m4 when you know. Just to help pass the knowledge on.

Forum dogma and snobbery is a thing of the past for me. I try not to be condescending, but i really want to pass this knowledge on as best I can (if they can use the search function) to problem solve and critical think and don't be afraid to be wrong. Together we can subvert the profit margins of airgun repair 😂. If we don't teach it, we are doomed to a world of appliance operators and disposable hardware.

Yes sir I will and well spoken point and I agree 100% and don't know if I could have spoken that even close as well as you did sir.

Well mr.88turbo got a kit that I might pick up because Im into this to deep with tuning and tear down processes with all y'all information you guy's have been pumping into my brain.
Do as you see fit but I’ll say that I live near UA, use the store and range a lot and have good relations with the staff and dogs. I’m not going into any details but I’ll say that you are not the only one with this valve issue and they have been very successful fixing it. I’m not throwing shade on turbo either - he may well have implemented the same fix or better.

Which would be anything other than " FX "
That's a joke. Right
Should be. isn't one gun out box that just works the ghost that cannot shoot slugs to save its life with its 4-600 barrels so how great is that 2k.gun?
How about The Agt Urgan 3 that's supposed to be so great
Sounds like a submarine when you shoot.it glad.i listened to a so many here that praise it because that PING stinks.
Who want to hunt with that ?
All.i see is the same few Bashing the same air gun over and over sounds.like a broken record as some say on other sites if.you own an FX
Expect to get bashed on agn.
There correct as I see it.more and more the few experts here dom t want to hear about any new fixes they know everything
Was a good site when I came.on board 6 months ago
With my new notos not so.much since u bought my impact so.
So it's my time to.move on thank the few that helped with my Notos and well the few Fx bashers have fun sound like a bunch of.old hens
I'm all set with this site Haye to see a Newby come.here with an impact.

Whats your favorite platform that you've found?

I am tempted to discuss my shoes, but I’ll go with AGs. I have no favorite. All thirty or so drive me nuts. I think that the ugly stick Taipan Vet 2 .700 tact is my favorite .22 slugger at present and that was a real surprise. It melts into the bag, the crosshairs barely move during the shot cycle and it’s the closest to the consistency and accurate of my PB biathlon rifles, which are pretty good. Of course, it has a few little tweaks on the hammer and valve components. I guess it my only AG that isn’t a work in progress, for now.

I own several "FX",s ...std and modded.......i like the FX but i am not going to turn a blind eye to their MANY flaws..

It is my long held belief that FX are really really bad at gunsmithing, even though they are OK at pneumatics. I also believe that they are bad at prototyping - the problem being that their creations spend most of their R&D life inside a computer/CAD program and not in the real world.
How difficult can it be to count all the interfaces between an accelerating pellet and the sights, and realise that all those micron displacements of contact points (when all parts are jarred and shaken) can lead to temporal or permanent POI shifts. It actually is difficult to think this way at the design phase, because even big firearm companies do often and frequently get this wrong too - for example floated handguards might move too much and barrel-receiver attachment points and ways might be 'not good enough'.

Well, now I'm following you lol.

It’s late but I think I get what you’re saying. Personally I’ve had to shelve the hero to the rescue or savior thing when it comes to airguns. Custom one off fixes for issues can work for the designer but maybe not for a random Joe. Look at all the trinkets sold for guns that don’t always deliver. They delivered for the designer under a certain situation or maybe very tiny window. So in fact they are legit. If what you’ve done works for you and your gun, that’s all that matters. It does not need validation unless you plan the be coming to the rescue with it. Then it has to be idiot proof or you risk getting flamed when hamfist Harry gets his hands on it.

There is a process as you correct a gun. As you work through it, you understand how everything you do influences something else. Some issues are just a little too complex to say here, bolt this on and you’re good. If guys knew something thats done to my one M3, it would flip some Impact owners who have machining skills or a machinist on speed dial right on their lids. But it’s what makes my gun unique.
you know what Mr. VETMX I've met plenty like you and most are women.
you see i don't beat around the bush like yourself or bash people who have an FX or a fix for one.
all you do is run your toilet, open your eyes there are new people on this site with new ideas and engineering background.
its time to take your chip off your shoulder!

Buy a 1900 dollar ghost at Talon Tunes and send the m4 packing when it comes back. Probably will lose a little cash in the ordeal but consider it a lesson learned. Also the maverick platform doesn’t have the warm up problem but I’ve had enough other issues with that I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. Certainly def not with ghosts available at such a good price.
been there the ghost can't even shoot slugs so 2k for a pellet gun.
