Snowpeak M60B 30 cal getting the mods

New valve installed and everything ported. Easy peeezy with Paul's jig. It also helps align the valve to the port during install.
Also ported the barrel. All ports are 6.35mm or .250".

All back together, testing so far shows I've gained about 40 fpe over where I was but at a 30 BAR less reg pressure.
You can hear the plenum refill a little after a shot.
Not bad at all, we'll see what higher pressure does.

Bumped the reg up to 165 and leaned on the hammer 3 turns from flush, and it's doing this now.

It's going to be only a few shots at that power though. I'm planning on making it an efficient mid power gun and probably shorten it up.
I did hit 970 for one shot, but 3 others were roughly 935-950 so I'd say it's a solid 90-95 fpe gun for a mag of needed. I'd like to see 50 shots at 50 fpe with it shortened up about 6 inches of barrel then fill the shroud.

That sucks! What's an FGX kit?BIG flop for the .25 Notos, could not break 520fps with the FGX kit...

Did you go up in caliber or really short on barrel? 520 is like crosman pistol low lol.FX barrel kit from C88 machining (I'm an ignoramus).

From .22 to .25, from 14.39gr to 25.39gr.

There was a new poppet made from peek, MUCH bigger and longer and I just bet it would fit the Zelos!!!!

On the zelos, the original ports are sized about right for 25 cal. I think the original valve could be made to work with 22 and 25 better. Spring change and cut down the poppet.
Now I wonder how this valve would work in the 9mm?

I do like 9mm but I also like 300FPE, the Zelos could never make that.
I can take white tail with 300fpe, a big ole' boat moving at 700 fps will not do it for me.

For $hits and giggles, I'm going to crank the reg up to 190 and see what it will do before I reset it to a lower power.
Anyone have an idea on what I can use to polish the crown on a 30 cal? I normally do the #8 brass screw for 22 cal, but that won't work on this lol.

Put the hammer spring at 5 full turns in, and with a 60.8 grain brimstone slug, I got an average of 910 fps for 10 shots before I dropped off reg. That's roughly 112 fpe!

Only about 10 shots out of the 350cc bottle. This gives me hope that I can still have good power and shot count after it gets the choppy choppy.

Glad you made this post, my next pcp is going to a snowpeak m60b or zelos but I wasn't sure if wanted to go the m60b .30 route but now I will just go with zelos .25, cheaper ammo anyways
