Don't hear much about Mac1 any more ? Anybody on here shoot a Mac1 ? I always liked his idea's .

A freind of mine bought a used regulated .177 one this summer and it has become his favorite air rifle, and he has had MANY!!! P.O.I. never changes and it's super accurate! He shot his highest Feild Target score 56/60 so far with it. J.L.

Funny that you should bring him up. Yesterday was his birthday. I learned a lot while hanging out at his shop. He's a good friend.
I shoot the QB78 .22 on a regular basis. I love that thing. Any of those or their HPA derivatives are his work.

Hey Beerthief, I have a few of them. All 177 and shooting 12 fpe. Theyre old school like me, and in fact Tim at Mac1 put a regulator in my long tube guns (normally 1500-1200, unregulated system) and has the reg set at around 900-1000 psi. I fill to 2100 psi and get tons of shots (approx 80-100) all regulated and theyre all great shooters. Tim is alive and well and busy making guns and tuning guns at his shop in southern Calif. Give him a call....and order a USFT...

I'll shoot him a message on FB and see if it gets a response. I don't live on the left coast anymore so we've sort of lost touch. I do hope he's doing well. He's always been a good friend.

Good to hear he's still alive and doing business. He was a treasure back in the day of Beeman and ARH, an actual airgunsmith who would call BS on much of the conventional wisdom of the day.

I was wondering if Tim was still around. Years ago, I ordered a new Benjamin AS392 CO2 rifle from him, that he trigger tuned and modded to fit a refillable CO2 bulk tank. He did really nice work. As I recall, he sold a fair number of those modded guns.

I've got a steroided benji in .22 that he did. I don't shoot it near enough. It's mostly a pester as i'm become less of a fan of pumping as i get older, lol.

I work for him in the early 80s. Help start silhouette and field target back then. Shot his prototypes and mine at the shoots winning most and taking 1st my class. Yes he more than a great friend and mentor! A great buddy
