N/A Magnum Pumpers or lack there of...?..?.?.?.?

Do a search on Bob Sterne's Discovery based pumper?

I hunted for years with a 17.5 fpe Vortek kitted Diana Panther 34 in .22, To5 trigger. I never felt under gunned, but I almost always kept my shots under 40 yards. If chicken of the tree was further out than my comfort zone, I did my best to close the gap. Since hunting with pcp the last few seasons, I've had to remind myself that I have the tool to stretch that comfort zone.
I guess that you skimmed right over the link I posted early on of Bob Sterne's Millineum pumper...

One thing that changed with pumpers vs pcp's is scopes. With the power of some pcp's, scopes and longer ranges have become the norm. I hunted quite a bit with pumpers and springers and peeps. They are perfect for each other but bump the power, a scope becomes more appropriate. Adding a scope requires a bit more robust breech attachment and also a side pump to clear your hand to the scope. Soooo... high powered pumpers are almost certainly going to be quite heavy. Take a pcp like the Disco and add pump apparatus and suddenly, it's not light. Add a scope and it bumps again. Not ideal for a handy little hunter and pumping is not ideal for bench, so what do you have?
LD actually built a prototype based on a USFT... not sure what it weighed but quite a beast. I think his design intent was a single stroke, 20 ft lb rifle for FT, so heavy would be ok there.
I really enjoy plinking with mine and almost all wear peeps. I've done in a pile of flies and wasps with pumpers and springers... mostly 15 yds and less but quite fun 😄... The wife and I never used scopes till we started FT and centerfire hunting. We might be spoiled now... especially with age, but I still really enjoy plinking with peeps.
Just a few more thoughts...
Bob

When I hear magnum pumper I think hunting, using that much fpe on paper may not be worth it. I have, and will continue to go down that rabbit hole of msp and power. The biggest problem I see is valve volume in pumpers. I once moded a 392 to shoot 15.49 at 740 fps at 12 pumps all done by increased volume, added internal valve mods, and some spring work. In all honesty, if it's not robust than things will start to break or wear out. The closest I've gotten to a magnum pumper is a 14xx build that will launch .177 over 1000fps in 12 pumps, hits 17ftlbs and stacks pellets at 25 yards (haven't taken it further than that yet or pumped it more than 12 times) to include is super light and quiet but not pretty as seen below. Built one in .25 too but haven't chrony it since adding some more performance mods and I'm sure it's in the 20fpe range in 10 pumps. Also stacks pellets at 25 yards.

A member to another forum built some big power on a 357 build, but I don't see it going to market as it's all custom work.
One does 120fpe
And a carbine that does 75fpe
His work is amazing

ACP is definitely the way to go. Maybe we will see something in the near future.

That's what I did with the aspen .25 and it stacks them at 50 yards although yes, barrel seems a bit flimsy and I waited to see the nova freedom fixed before I jumped on it. The pump is not that hard to rebuild. It's actually a .435 diameter barrel so I've actually considered replacing it with a bull .550 diameter barrel for rigidity and using the aspen barrel on a crosman 22xx pcp build with barrel bands.
