I have a Benjamin HB17 / Crosman H9A .177 multi-pump pistol. It's several decades old, hardly been fired, out of the box condition. I've been shooting it lately, put a nice red dot on it and it's very accurate, so I'm going to shoot it more. I want to maintain it correctly. The owner's manual shows lubricating the cocking pivot points with a drop of oil every 200 shots (newer manuals say use Pelgun oil). It does not mention putting a drop of oil behind the valve as the 1322 and 1377 manuals suggest. The valves look very similar. If anyone has any experience or insight in the correct way to maintain this pistol please let me know.
