FX Make my FX Dreamline compact .22 quiet

I have just received my FX Dreamline compact .22 and am very impressed with the accuracy, BUT, it's noisy.
My use is in a back yard at ranges from 20 to 50 metres max, shoot pesky birds and rabbits, currently have JSB Hades 15.89g

I am in Australia, so no suppressor.

As a total newbie to this and getting confused by the jargon I would be forever grateful if someone can give me a clear set of instructions to get this gun as quiet as is possible in its stock form, no additions or major mods. The front power adjuster is Low, Medium, High, the rear one is numbered from 1 to 23 Regulator pressure is set on 115.

First and foremost I would recommend you do a bunch of reading and watching about how to tune the dreamline or even other models of fx to familiarize yourself with the how and why of tuning. If you can really be vigilant on your tuning you can give the barrel the right dose of air at the right pressure to make best use of the barrel time to accelerate your pellet but not have a noisey waste air muzzle report. Sometimes more regulator pressure assists in closing the valve faster and also doses the barrel with the right amount of the right energy air. It's a learning curve but if you took the time to read an understand that with the jargon, im willing to bet you'd be very happy.

I've just bought a dreamtact compact 25 that's at 45 ft lbs with an fx donny FL and it's pretty quiet(quiet is my big hangup) 150 bar on the regulator, transfer port on high, power wheel at its maximum . Is yours bottle or tube? if it's tube you can play with the shroud to a degree and probably find a happy middle ground. Playing with projectile weights helps but makes missing more problematic if you do. If you are handy or have access to machine tools the world is your oyster there. If a dedicated shroud is still legal, you may have a workaround for the rules on the moderator. The dreamline is a little neglected in the aftermarket as I'm finding.

Worst case scenario you go with a longer barrel and shroud and tune that way. Which is spendy, but not the worst for dreamlines. My 700mm impact on my low setting is the same 45 ft lbs but is much much quieter due to barrel length and ease of tuning an impact. I wish you the best of luck on the learning curve and results.

Please make sure you know the do and don't rules for regulator adjustment or you will have a big headache and have to replace regulator parts more than likely when you get the dreaded reg creep from a simple error.

I just tested mine with no moderator. I can see the issue on any transfer port setting but low.

I just tested with no moderator and ya, it's too loud. Transfer port on low was acceptable but 600 fps for my settings. I will keep an eye out for solutions.

A lot depends on the power you are trying to push the pellet with. From such a short barrel, anything over 700-750 fps will have a bark to it. There is not alot of internal baffling to direct the air back so it has to go somewhere. With the reg around 90-100 bar, start trying to back out the hammer spring till you get an acceptable shot report if you do not have a chronograph. Keep the trabsfer port on 22 as the larger opening will only slow the velocity down as the air has too much volume to fill before it starts down the barrel. Low chokes it down too much.
