Making Exploding Bottle Targets

Yes, this seems like a lot of fun, but....
Shooting them at a distance with a pellet gun may be okay, but as close as some of the shots were, I'd be very leery.

I was actually thinking along the same lines. His neighborhood looks well manicured and orderly. If I tried doing that in my neighborhood the police would be knocking on my door in under 2 minutes. I'm surprised the same isn't true in his neighborhood.

In all seriousness though these should be used only where you know it's ok. "Shoot first ask questions later" is as good as good as calling the cops on yourself. With that said......back to making tons of exploding targets for me.

This also works on 2 and 3 liter soft drink bottles with more pressure and a much "bigger" boom. 
I do not live in any city and miles from anybody and no kids so NO ONE is in ANY Danger!
Wish I had some Squirrels though because this gives me some ideas! >

Thanks for sharing this video. We have a small mound of plastic bottles we saved to recycle. Drove by my recycling center and found they closed down. With the family reunion coming up, THIS is going to be lots of fun! There will be plenty of kids to run the bike pump

We are making that kind of targets for quite some time now and they work great!
We use cola bottles, those can take up to 130PSI (9 bar) of pressure easily.

Spend hundreds of $$$ on a moderator to make the gun whisper quiet, then make a target the explodes ---- ?????

There are different types of shooting. For hunting you want it quiet...near silent. For target shooting, quiet is good, but not necessarily silent. Plinking? Whatever you want. Some people enjoy the BOOM of shooting.

Made this these weekend and they were the main attraction! Even when they exploded while filling, the kids really enjoyed it.

These are cool, but everyone please use safety glasses when pumping up and handling these things. I couldn't believe the first video when he had a toddler about 5 feet away with no eye protection. Looking at the slo-mo vids it is clear that if one of these goes off within a couple of feet of you (as when you are pumping it up and handling it) you could clearly have a catastrophic eye injury.

I've been using the thin walled water bottles, pumping up to about 50/60psi. Nice loud bang about the report of a 20 gauge. The bottles just split in half, no mess no shrapnel and no neighbors.
