Taipan Making the veteran standard even better!!

For those of you who have been die hard vet owners, I’m with you!
This is my 2nd vet, after I stupidly sold the first before giving it a chance.
My only gripe with the vet was in the bullpup configuration with the factory wood stock, I was horrible at shots past 50yds. Not the rifles fault. Just my comfort.
I decided to bite the bullet and ordered a tactical stock for it.
The FIRST time I shot it afterwards, it was like buying a completely different gun. Comfort level is there, and I’m comfortable now past 50yds. With a pic rail up front to help with bench work, it’s even more sturdy.
icing to top the cake (that I haven’t seen ANYWHERE mentioned till now) is that it takes AR style flat top grips!!!
I HATED the wood grip that came with it, so after I found this out, I was ecstatic to say the least.
Very happy with my purchase!

I bought it from talon tunes, though I would not endorse doing business there.
It’s weightier than the wood stock, but it helps to bring the center of gravity of the rifle lower to make it more stable, and it does come with a wood cheek piece, wood grip, and an adjustable hamster.

I’m unsure if it fits the compact, but he doesn’t list a different chassis for it. Im guessing if they’re different, it won’t fit.

those used to be cheaper on his website if I remember correctly, the price jumped up significantly...
Funny you say that! I bought one of the 2 he had left in stock. 10 mins after I bought it, he jacked the price up of the last one left by $50. Like wtf!!!

I love my Vet. I’ve only owned one PCP longer. I saw the tactical stocks and knew that even though there is nothing cozy about shooting a hunk of aluminum, it had to help the handling of a Vet. I just couldn’t do it because of the price. My Vet became a much better animal when I ditched the 40 pound scope. Its funny how a couple buck will sway me either way. If a tactical stock was $300 with no extra crap I’ll never use, I’d buy one. I just don’t hate my Vets stock $450 bad.

I’m like that too. I usually have a figure in my head and if it’s much more (or much less) then im out..

Ballistas is showing the tactical stocks between $550 and almost $700, when converted from Euros.

It will be funny to see the first Vet in the classifieds with a tactical stock. Can’t wait to see what kind of value the seller thinks he added to the gun.
What makes you think I did it to add value? I did it to match me, not to sell for higher value.
The reason the price Increased from Tony is because he only had 1 left. He’s playing the supply demand game.
I’m also not sure with the debut of the vet 2, that they’ll even make this chassis any more.

It'll be interesting to see if they even support the OG Vet anymore. Tony had a couple valve stems a few months ago, and they've now been "out of stock" for a while. Not that all parts were ever very easy to get, but at least Tony could source SOME of the parts at one point.

I understand Taipan is a small company, and logistically would have probably been difficult for them, but would have been nice for them to continue production of the OG Vet as well.
