Marauder Carbine

I am putting together a P-Rod Carbine. I didn't want to order too much not knowing if this would be my thing.

I put a Leuphold 3-9 EFR on it with High rings. Wish I had of had some mediums laying around. Nice compact scope for this.

The first shots were louder than I had thought it would be. I ordered a moderator from Hill Airgun. I am very pleased with it. It is very quiet. I also like how small the it is it doesn't look like a soup can stuck on the end of the barrel.

I don't have a selection of 22 pellets yet. I had some Crosman pellets left over from sighting in a rifle for a friend. I thought it may have shot them better. But I have some JSB's coming.

I tried shooting it at night holding a flashlight under the forearm. I could see great. Critters didn't cooperate so I just shot steel targets and the thick rafters in my barn in anticipation of pigeons. It was cool how well I could see pellets fly.

So I ordered a pic. rail, a flashlight mount and misc. small lights off amazon. And another magazine.

So far its a fun plinker.

I love my P-Rod, got it when Crossman had them on sale for $239.99 actual cost out of my pocket was $139.99, so I couldn’t refuse. I had a Leapers/ UTG 4x32 with the right height rings to clear the magazine that works perfectly. The only money I have spent on it so far is $40.00 for an adapter from Donnie FL to put the moderator that I got with my .25 dreamline... The proverbial mouse fart quite. The Crossman Premiere shoot very well out of mine as well, I tried the JSB 15’s and 18’s , not great, I’ll have to try the JSB 13’s. The H&N Field Target Trophy in the 5.53mm are tack drivers, I was shocked when I shot the first group (8 shots) at 25 yards and it was .52” using a red dot I had on it before the scope. Great little carbine agree 100% with Ranchibi. Keep us updated on the mods!

I too got mine on last years Black Friday deal! Definitely give the RS a try 👍.

I've had my prod a couple years and have many thousands of rounds through it. Shot the cphp well and the h&n 5.53mm great. Nothing else I've tried was worth shooting. Just for funsies I ordered a new barrel from crosman and installed it after a thorough cleaning. I've only had it in a few weeks so accuracy testing is not conclusive yet. The new barrel hates the cphp, but the h&n 5.53 are even better than before. I'll call it a win.

Happy early 4th! Merica!

I've had several of them over the years. Great little lightweight guns. I gave this one to my 9 yo grandson. Only mods are changed the tp to .110 and added the one piece AR stock adaptor and a Rocker1 shroud.. He loves it.

Are those one piece adapters with the AR stock solid. Or do they have wobble in them? I like their looks but would hate to spend the money on it and be floppy.

P-Rod carbine is a great plinker. Alum cans, mice, squirrels, etc, close up. In its element it's a good piece of gear. Seems to like Crosman Premier domes/hollow pts. Keep it simple with pellets and save yourself a lot of hassle. I'm still looking for a quality ($100) red/green dot for it. I tried the TACFUN red/green for $40. Too inconsistent. Other suggestions?

I ordered a Hawke red dot for mine. I think it was about $80 from Pyramyd Air. I picked it for no other reason than it was in stock and had a dovetail mount and wouldn't require an adapter.

It is the 20 mm version and I mount it just in front of the magazine and the bottom of the occular end just clears the magazine. Like it was made for the P-Rod.

Unfortunately it's the only red dot I've used so I can't compare it to anything. At the time I was unaware that my astigmatism would be an issue with a red dot so I barely use it.
