Marauder pistol upgrade

Currently have a Marauder pistol with stock, and like everything about it except for the range. Seems like it's good to about 25-30 yards. Thinking about upgrading to somthing with similar size, handling and quietness that will get me out to 50+ yards. I have a Condor SS in .25 that works great for me but I like the size and weight of the P-rod. Looking for suggestions on what to buy.

and if you want to go cheaper i use my stormrider 177 in that role .. over 50 offhand pesting etc isnt really realistic 'to me' anyway theres just reliable limits unrested, and might as well use a full size gun on the bench ... but the stormrider is small and handy almost like the prod, put a 4-16x scope on it and its pretty solid to 50 .. open the tp on the prod a bit and itl gain some to, 40ish or so ..

I went from a Marauder pistol to an Edgun Leshiy Classic and that was a good move for me but mostly because I'm a hiker. I do believe a Leshiy is over a pound heaver than a P-rod but I don't really notice it and the shorter packing length is a big plus for me.

Since many of the comments so far have included upgrades to your P-rod, I'll throw in the Rapid 70 Bullpup kit as a possibility, maybe with a longer barrel and some of the power mods suggested. Not sure what the weight will be but if it could be combined with a longer barrel it would keep it relatively short overall.

I remember reading that the barrels used in the PRod were not great. Maybe consider looking for an upgrade barrel for it, a L. Walther maybe. I noted on mine that the carbine stock from OEM would wiggle easily and seemed to affect poi in use. I changed to a AR type stock and adapter, which seemed to help in my case. There is a screw on the plug that the adapter screws into that you have to check to make sure it stays tight as well.

To my Prod I did the Bstaley mod, enlarged the transfer port and used a stringer hammer spring.

Now I get 640 to 680 FPS with CPHP 14.3 grains for 32 shots, and could get around 700 FPS for 24 shots.

Even with these mods my Prod's maxiumum (rreasonably accurate) range would still be around 30-35 yards.

I keep trying to shoot it at around 60 yards with little success.

Can the .22 Marauder barrel be installed on the Prod, and would that help with accuracy at a longer range?

Keeping with the Prod, longer Lother barrels are available as are longer air tubes....

My stock Prod barrels work great for ranges under 35 yds.

Lookup Mountain Air, Hill and some others....think about spending under $500 for mods, think close to 4x that amount for Leshiy.

Everyone seems to love their Leshiy...have Fun thinking it all over.

Yes, I know for a fact the newer generation barrels can -

With only 66ccs of air, I don't think even 20 fpe is a reasonable expectation from a Prod. Mine will get there but only barely and then only for maybe 1 magazine of shots per fill. Mine is tuned to shoot copper plated FTTs at about 725 fps. I don't think it's very practical past about 35 yards. The pellet will get there but it will have a lot of drop and not much power.

Weight it the key characteristic of the Prod that is difficult to get even close to. Lots of 7-8 lb guns. Very few 4 lb guns. I love my P35 but it is a bit heavier at 5.2 lbs. The earlier P15 is still available and is 4.4 lbs. That is pretty close. My P35 is a 25 caliber that easily shoots 20 grain FTTs at 875 fps. It was up around 900 before I turned the reg down a quarter turn. I have not shot it yet at 50 but I think a P15 or P35 has a lot more 50 yard potential than a Prod (without a lot of mods like more air and a longer barrel). The only way I know to get a P15 or P35 is to order it from Krale. The P15 and P35 store 265ccs of air. I get 50-70 shots per fill. A lot more power with only a little more weight. About the same length (but with a 450mm barrel).
