I’m fairly new to pcps and have a marauder .25 and a armada .25 and a fire 201 .357. On my Marauder when I fill it I can only get around 2800-3000 psi in it. Why? I can get 3500+ in my fill tank. Thanks for any info. I don’t wanna tear it apart very far my eyes aren’t what they use to be and I’m afraid I will mess something up or lose something lol

You do NOT want to put more psi in your Marauder anyway, so there is no problem...........unless the gauge on the gun is wrong, and you ARE putting 3500 psi in it, which you should NOT do!!!!! I would always go with the gauge on the tank you are filling from for the more accurate of the 2. Marauder gauges are not known for their accuracy. If you have a Marauder of any caliber, and it is regulated, overfilling it over 3000 psi could damage the regulator. If it is not regulated, and you fill to over 3000 psi, you'll get valve lock, and you may not be able to degass the gun with the degassing tool. Now you'll have a bigger, more dangerous problem to deal with. Do not fill over 3000, and don't go by the gauge on the gun.

Tom. Thanks sir I have never filled over 3000 but thought it may go higher and get more shots from it. I get a lot of shots anyways but was just curious so figured I would ask lol. Thanks again

I can see that mistake made easily with someone getting into this hobby and he/she buys a used gun, like the Marauder, that’s aftermarket regulated and shows regulated pressure on the guns gage. On my regulated marauder, 1950-2000 is all it’ll show. So, I then rely on the fill tanks gage to let me know I’ve got 3000 psi in there. Unless a seller told the buyer it’s regulated and the guns gage will show reg pressure only, how would a newbie know?

You know what 3000 psi do? Its like a bomb when it goes kaboom. The marauder is rated for 3000 psi maximum. Why are you even trying to push it over its limit? Company put a maximum fill pressure for a reason. You do not wanna know what 3000+psi do when it goes off.

Not to be a jerk or anything but Please reach PCP's a bit more. You do not want to see what a failure can do (if your still alive to talk about it). I had a "minor" failure (blown o-rings on my moisture filter) at 2400 psi and I nearly cra**ed my pants. I was uninjured and no harm no foul as the air dump was somewhat slow and controlled BUT if it had let go all at once, well 2fast2furious was understated when he said bomb! This is not like putting 40 lbs in a tire rated for 35 lbs. This is like throwing a full propane tank in a bonfire. Please please please heed those warnings. Ok off the soap box now.

Yup just imagine all that overfilled pressure and the end cap and hammer spring and hammer pointed right at your face when you shoulder the gun!
I really dread the thought of 4000+psi regulated guns reg fails wonder if the internals are engineered to withstand that 4000+psi? And it's pointed right at your face. Pay attention to where that end cap is when shooting your PCPs.

My Liberty has a 4350 rated air tube and the regular ended up putting the full air pressure in the receiver, no problem.

your tank is made to handle 3000+ vs your guns metal tube that the engineering and insurance people rated it at for safety reasons. one of my tank is rated for 4500 psi and its made of carbon fiber wrapped aluminum. Marauders are usually made of steel tubes with Allen bolts holding back the pressure. you can go beyond 3000 in marauder but that is a safety issue and do at your own risk
