Marauder surprised me

Everyone is talking 50 yards ... and I never tried 50 at all..
I decided to stay at 40 yards in the past... being a hunter I decided that 40 yards was far enough...
I never shot 50 yards so I took my .25 marauder out... rarely shoot this gun.
I shot 3 clips of 8 shots to figure out mil dots on the scope and this is the out come.
5 shot group at 50 yards...
was going to try ten... but did not want to take the chance.....I would not ever think I could do this.....never thought I would try it... but I am happy with this .25 marauder.
Nothing done to it... not even trigger adjustment.. which I find stiff but I left alone...
Maybe I will start thinking 50 yards more often..... This group I am sure could be better.... if someone behind the scope was a better shot.

The trigger adjustment is very easy, take a look at your manual for adjusting the second stage. I did mine and love it! Believe it or not you won't get too much more of a spread at 75 yards. The hold off on mine went from one mil-dot to 3 mil-dots since I have mine sighted in at 25Meters but other than the additional hold over, I think you will be impressed what this gun can do at 75 yards as well! Just some fyi, I adjusted my second stage out 5 turns (partial turns due to trigger guard in the way) and got some great sensitivity on the second stage. I'm not sure how far it can be turned out before it falls out but give it a try, you might like the lighter second stage trigger? Enjoy the Marauder!

I have other Marauders that I have adjusted the trigger... I usually shoot my .177 ..gen 1 ....
I seem to enjoy that gun the most... my .22 gen 2 Marauder can't hit a bull in the ass at 10 feet (exaggeration) but not very accurate gun..
I got the .25 out just to see what I could do at 50 yards ..... wow..... I was only shooting one mil dot over...I have it sighted in for 25 and 30 yards... 

Smaller pellets are cheaper as well ...so the .25 does not get shot much...

Harry (yrrah) is the person who back closer to the year 2000 inspired me to try stretching out to 100 yards. Started with the 90fpe 707, worked down to 20fpe .177's then discovered the joy's of 110(+) yard 12fpe .177 shooting. I would not take a hunting shot with 12fpe at over 100 but it is good practice and fun.
IF it suits your style & experience the marauder trigger will go down to ounces safely.
To be able to take advantage of that trigger the torsion spring (which was NOT installed on the 1st 100 marauders with "match" triggers) needs to be removed:

And always check for safe operation when working on any trigger. Mine is right at 16oz and will not discharge when beating the butt on the floor or slapping it about the head and neck, so to speak.

You probably already know this then about the barrels on the .25 vs the .177 and .22. The .25 barrel is made by green mountain and seems to be a little better than the OEM of the barrels on the .177 and .22. You are not the only person to experience issues with the .22. Killzone has mentioned it in his threads in the past as well. Enjoy the Marauder .25 it is a fine gun!
Along with CampFussell would love to know what pellets you are shooting in the .25?

I shot these with the JSB 25.39 grain.straight out of the tin.. I have shot Benjamin Pellets at shorter distances with very good results...
Like I said I rarely shoot this gun... but now you people got me interested at 50 yards.... so I decided to try the distance..
I can say this gun surprised me and made me very happy.... (stupid me for not getting it out sooner)
I always wanted a cricket.... not so sure now... (smile)
I am now going to practice 50 yards ... I got to make sure I get all in that 1/2 inch area someday.

maybe just maybe I will buy a bullpup kit for this gun..

That might make it harder to keep those groups tight. Bullpup designs originated from the need for a shorter format rifle for enclosed spaces (urban and jungle environments). Enough practice could make up the difference in the usual reduction in long range accuracy of a bullpup.

Since I have not held or shot a bullpup rifle , let alone seen one in person.... I will take your advise and leave it alone.
I just have this drive in me to own one.... not sure why... must be the cool factor..

I have notice some complaining they do not care for a bullpup , I guess I will stay with a rifle.
I know I can shoot them .... I practice enough now don't need to learn all over again for a bullpup ... my wife can't understand the attraction to shooting so much..
