Friends,
THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED TO REFLECT CORRECTIONS IN THE MATCH SCHEDULES. Since the forum won't allow me to attach the corrected file of the March 4 & 5 TEXtreme weekend, I've deleted that erroneous attachment from this post and attached the corrected file to my reply below.
Weather permitting, our next TEXtreme airgun competitions will be Extreme Field Target Rifle and Pistol matches on Saturday & Sunday, March 4 & 5. Both matches will feature Airguns Of Arizona gift certificate prizes for the top podium placers. Rifle Match podium prizes are $250, $150 and $100 in Airguns Of Arizona gift certificates. The Pistol Match podium prizes are $150, $100 and $50 in AOA gift certificates.
The rifle match on Saturday will feature an excellent new target courtesy of Team Centercut, and an ‘evolved’ course (translation- more “challenging”). Hint- Expect THREE targets on the standing lane.
The pistol Extreme Field Target course is more accurately described as almost all new (targets and arrangement). Oh, and also plenty “challenging”.
Shooters not entering the Pistol Field Target competition may shoot that match with any air RIFLE (or pistol) producing less than 20 foot pounds of muzzle energy, but are not eligible for the Pistol awards. If at least three shooters enter the Fun Airgun class, the highest scoring Fun Airgun shooter will be awarded a Match Winner hat pin.
At this point two subjects bear mentioning for the sake of avoiding or minimizing fall-out from possible problems or issues that could arise or escalate. Forgive me for having to address these points that must be addressed, lest they fester into bigger issues.
Pistol field target shooters should be aware of rule #6 stating “Overall length including any attachments cannot exceed 25 inches.” My points? Scopes and eye-cups are attachments, and all rules will be enforced (always).
The next point I need to mention pertains to competitors shooting things they shouldn’t, like cans of spray-paint, target frames, fence-posts, out-buildings, and/or anything other than actual TARGETS (be they paper or steel). Violations will result in disqualification, expulsion, or ban from TEXtreme competitions.
See attachments for more details and information.
Here’s hoping for fine weather for the March 4 & 5 TEXtreme competitions weekend. Maggyy and I look forward to seeing all her Aunts and Uncles again.
Safe Travels Y’all,
R & M
