March TEXtreme Airgun Sports Extreme Field Target weekend announcement

Howdy Friends,

Weather permitting, the next TEXtreme Airgun Sports competition weekend will be Extreme Field Target competitions on March 2-3. Both Saturday’s Extreme Rifle FT match and Sunday’s Extreme Pistol FT match will award Airguns Of Arizona gift certificates and TEXtreme Airgun Sports engraved pellet tins to the top podium placers in each sixty-shot event.

Gift certificate distribution for the rifle match will be $250 to the Match Winner, $150 to Second Place, and $100 to Third Place. The pistol Match Winner will receive a $150 AoA gift certificate, and the Second Place pistol shooter will receive a $100 gift certificate. Both match winners will also receive TEXtreme Airgun Sports Match Winner pellet tins.

To encourage participation and diversity, shooters may shoot any airgun shooting all-lead pellets at less than 100 foot pounds of muzzle energy in Saturday’s rifle match, and/or any airgun producing less than 20 foot pounds in Sunday’s pistol match. However, only shooters abiding by the rules will be eligible to win awards. Please familiarize yourself with the attached 2024 rules sets; there have been changes.

In order to explore a potential new pistol class, Saturday’s pistol-match course has been set to also accommodate Magnum (class) air pistols producing as much as 40 foot pounds maximum muzzle energy. Again, shooters may purchase multiple scorecards for Sunday’s pistol match in order to shoot multiple guns/classes in the pistol match.

All target distances for both matches will be provided, and rangefinders are allowed. Extreme Pistol Class shooters will engage targets to a maximum of 55 yards. Magnum Pistol Class shooters will shoot targets to 80 yards. Given Troyer difficulties of about 38T without multipliers for both Pistol classes, shooters can expect to be well challenged. Saturday’s 36.2T Rifle match might also be no cake-walk.

The practice range will be open from 2 till 6 PM on Friday (March 1), and again from 9 AM till 11 AM shooters meetings on Saturday and Sunday. Both matches will start about ten minutes after the shooters meetings.

Entry fees are $30 for one Rifle match score-card, $25 for one Pistol match score-card, or $50 for one Rifle and one Pistol card. Shooters may purchase an additional score-card for either match for an extra $15; in which case they will be considered and shoot as 2 shooters in their assigned squad.

Snacks and cold beverages will be provided on both match days. Group dinners are typically organized at local eateries after dark.

Many thanks to Airguns Of Arizona for your continued sponsorship of TEXtreme Airgun Sports and Extreme Field Target competitions.Friends, please support the business that makes these competitions possible.

See Y’all Soon,
Ron & Maggyy

I can't figure out what rules have changed, can you expand on that?

Just a few verbiage changes/improvements in the rifle rules, but no substantive changes.

Pistol rules changes were addition of a Magnum Class and particulars about it, now 16X maximum magnification (setting) while shooting rather than 12X, no stabilizers or extended grips.
