Howdy Airgunners and Gentleman, today was Match Day at the Boerne Field Target Club and what a great day it was! Two matches held, new faces, old friends, great doughnuts ( thanks Scotty!) and great shooting by all.
Temps at sight-in around the mid 30’s raised quickly to the 40’s, bringing in some relevant breezes during the matches. Despite the much cooler weather than anticipated, seven shooters contested the first match, three in the second, and the rest stayed and enjoyed a rec shoot concurrently. Hat tip to Stan K., and Mike A, for the consideration, time and effort to travel so far to join us. The pleasure was all ours and we hope to see you again!
Match 1: Rifle
Congratulations Mike A.!!!! Mike triumphed in Hunter PCP, with Robert D. close on his heels. Looking at those scores I bet it was a pretty intense morning for those two, Great shooting! Jim C., our course designer, and Scotty H. tied for third, but Scotty also was the most consistent shooter overall. Bill B. braved his beautiful HW97 alone in Springer. Nice shootin’ Bill, I’m getting sighted in for next month, give you some company! and finally Stan K proudly represented the WFTF class in Texas today, a man and his Thomas, standing alone in his Class, who traveled deep into the heart of Texas for Field Target. Hallmark moment right there y’all.
Match 2: TexTreme Pistol
Jim C. was the star contender in Textreme Pistol. Great shooting Jim! His Brocock and Hawke combo will probably be whats in his hands next month at TexTreme. David T. gallantly contended the course landing him second place. Given how he shoots rifle I bet we see him at Textreme soon too. Hint. Hint. Yours truly DQ’d himself for a scope violation. I am coining the new term “Match Director Moment” Jimi Hendrix had a song about it too i think it was called ”if 16x was 12x”
Attached is a quick report of the rifle match.. Please note the SD displayed is NOT the shooters order of fire, it is sequential bc I did not record the starting lanes and/or ask everyone to, but will, Bad MD, no donut. Club members will receive their individual analysis in the coming week via email.
Course had an overall hit rate of 72.6%, Lane 7 Standing was the lowest overall with 35.71%, followed by Kneeling with 61.9%. Lanes 5 and 10 were next with 69.5%. Highest Hit % was lane 2, with 83.3%.
Not many pics-apologies!
HUGE THANKS - Pyramyd Air, Pellet Gauge! Go there, buy stuff, they support FT clubs. Cigarman, Airngasman…you already know.
Keep your eyes peeled for the new website launch and more. Next BFTC Matches are Saturday March 18th. As a reminder, Arlington shoots next weekend and TexTreme on the horizon as well.
See you in the lanes!
As always, Field Target is a group effort and a special thanks to the group, here and on site. We appreciate ya! Any questions or the like, ilk or ire, please contact me here or at [email protected]
