Hi guys, I just joined yesterday and was not planning on posting yet but something came up. I just got into airguns a year ago with a Gamo Whisper Fushion Mach 1 and after a year and over 15000 pellets (according to the stack of empty tins) I am making the leap to pcp. I have been researching for months and have decided on the Marauder. Anyway I saw the 25% off at Crosman and pulled the trigger. Now to get a compressor. I am going to try a Yong Heng and as I said I have been researching for months but have no experience with pcp. After reading posts I have found that I will need other items. Some to connect the pump to my Marauder as well as some others. So if you guys are anything like the guys on Rimfire Central you will be glad to help me spend my money. Anyway thanks in advance and a great big THANK YOU to AGN for the 25% coupon which saved me some serious cash. I love this site already. I posted this in the compressor section because I need help from members who have experience with both.

...From my research you can go directly to the gun from the compressor, takes about one minute. If you want to fill bottles or are worried about water and oil getting in your gun/bottle than add a molecular or desiccant filter.

What do you need help with? Yes like Rosco said you can connect the yong heng hose directly to your Marauder and fill it that way. That's how I fill my guns, directly from the compressor.

Thanks guys. I read somewhere that the fittings from China don't mate with our fittings. Something about their threads being straight and our threads being tapered pipe threads. I also was wondering about additional moisture filters and desiccants but I have seen some posts on another thread that address that subject. I am new to pcp's and was wondering if there is anything I will need to get started other than the gun and compressor.

Hello, I would for sure add a dryer between my unit and my gun. I put the compressed air in a fireman's bottle first then from bottle to gun, less chance of water getting into your gun. I also started with a Marauder and a Yong Heng and works great..... Good luck

I have had no issues with my YH compressor. The included fittings works perfectly. I would add a filter to prevent any contaminates/moister from entering your airgun. Excess moister will make your Mrod leak as it corrodes the bare aluminum internal parts. I learned the hard way when I was starting out years ago with a hand pump.

Profsrgary, my advice and opinions only, sir, but if you just own a pcp gun and are tankless, do yourself a big favor and just invest in the portable 120v and 12v units like the Nomad 2, the Hatsan Spark, and the one that Benjamin sells. I’ve personally only read reviews on the Spark and the Nomad, and all have been pretty good. with the majority of the customers happy in their investment. These are perfect compressors for filling guns only, with short fill times, and they are portable! No worries of water buckets, hoses all over, parts if needed, and all the stuff I know you’ve read about in these YH compressors.
For the YH price point, it’s inexpensive enough to be able to invest in later on should you decide to get a tank, so, for now, if you are for sure tank less(I’m just assuming) get one of those portable units. By the time you invest in filtration(good filtration parts) you’re gonna be close to the price point of one of these portables, anyway.

Read up on anything NOMAD 2 or over on GTA forums there are a few reviews on the Hatsan Spark. I believe either Hatsan on their website or fieldsupply.com has a sale going on the Spark compressor for a bit over $400.
Im not sure on the Nomad, but I know on the Hatsan Spark it’s a two piece deal. One is the actual compressor made to hook up on your car battery and the transformer to be able to plug into 120v in your house is a separate component. I think the Nomad is all built into one. Weigh all that in when doing your math, and also look at your intent of use, in other words, “your convenience”
