I have a 25 cal Maverick with the factory duel transfer port. And pellet probe. Has anyone tuned there gun for the 29/29.5 gain slugs. Or may have setting for a closer weights slug that they can share their h/s setting and reg setting to at least get me close. Thanks

I have a 22 shooting 27.5 gr to 928 fps with the hammer maxed and 112 bar on 2nd reg. Would think you might get similar or slightly higher fps at same settings as you have a heavier hammer

Thanks solo1 so my back reg is 125 bar. I forgot to mention that. It shoots the 34 gain at 905 on hammer 6. I have been reading that every one basically maxes out the hammer from the start. Is this ok even though I don’t have a high reg pressure. I don’t want to stress the parts to much.

I’ve been suggesting to max hammer spring
( if you go too far gun won’t cock and safty wont work)
and turn up air (about 2.5 bar at a time ) till velocity drops. This will tell you your max settings for any gr slug or pellet then adjust down from there to get best groups

So I pulled my Maverick out and watch a video that Ernest did on setting the preload on the Wildcat mk3 to have full use of the hammer spring. I began to tune it the same way he showed. Then I pulled the h/s wheel off and measured the adjustment screw and it measured 5.5 mills pretty close to maxed out.

How does the Maverick come set up from the factory? And is that set up for a certain weight pellet?

I didn’t measure it before but my 25 cal was shooting the 34 grain jsb at 940 with the factory duel transfer port and the 2nd reg set at 125 bar (wika gauge). I turned the h/s adjuster about 2.5 turns to reach 5.5 mills. At factory 1 and 2 didn’t move the hammer. Now it moves 1-7. That’s what I did and I still need to shoot it.

I had my Maverick 30 cal Sniper set to 150/180 on regulators and hammer spring screw maxed out. I recently installed a 25 cal 500mm barrel on it and put a 3 power Acog up top for a lightweight setup. I decided to leave regulators at same settings and use the same 30 cal hammer with screw maxed.
It works surprisingly well with JSB 25.39 pellets. Now if I want to swap calibers all I have to do is change barrels.
