FX Maverick II

Hello all,
I've been contemplating the purchase of a Maverick Sniper, but I was wondering when we'll see a Maverick II since the original was released roughly 3 years ago. Any rumors milling about?

I think FX does a pretty good job of keeping future products a secret. So there arent many rumors regarding new rifles. But they do have a track record of recycling and upgrading in generational series. So maybe at some point the newest Dynamic action will be adapted to the Crown/Impact/Maverick but we wont know until FX does an announcement. Although with the performance currently available; Id have to wonder what you are hoping to be improved if there were to be a new iteration. I think the cocking rod design could be improved on the Maverick/Wildcat, but other than that its pretty good as is.

That is hard to say. The ole dreaded decision to pull the trigger or wait for the new model. That’s a tough one. It seems their concentration has shifted toward these prs style guns. Maybe they will come up with their own Gillette razor gun like Donny Fl but put 5 regulators in it. I mean you can never have enough blades err I mean regulators right ??

IMHO, the bull barrel on the Karma guns is a major improvement and step away from the FX barrel design and more important than the Karma guns regulator configuration. We will see how the Karma, Red Pandas place at PAC.

The FX Dynamic action, with it's external plenum, is another important change. You, the owner, are not recommended to change barrel length or caliber, don't mess with that external plenum. You must have an FX dealer do that work. So, not as flexible as the other FX models. Using the Dynamic action across more FX models would make manufacturing easier (less complex) for FX, but I believe they do the vast majority of their manufacturing using CNC machines, that should reduce the benefit (cost wise).

If FX does develop it's own bull barrel, that upgrade would have to be done at a FX dealer for your Dynamic action rifle (my guess, but it is a reasonable one).

It is hard to say how many more near term (6 to 8months) design changes FX can handle without risking quality issues or heading off in the wrong direction.

Thanks for the info, makes me less concerned which caliber I would start with.
Some other posts from early this year state doing this work yourself would void your warranty.

I bought the .25 panthera hunter because of the 120cc plenum size and 380mm barrel vs .22 having a 62cc plenum and 300mm barrel.

Huma has a caliber change kit for about $125 and a .22 380mm liner for $110 and I already have a couple.22 maverick mags.

I am interested in a Panthera to for NRL22 and 100 BR, but should it be 25cal or 30cal, 600mm or 700mm. I don't know, at least with the Huma caliber kit you can change caliber for a reasonable price. I am leaning towards 25cal and 600mm because I have multiple 25cal 600mm liners from my Crown I could try/use. I need to see what ZAN come up with for their BR100 pellets on 25cal.

After buying many FX platforms over the years. Currently, I would buy into the new FX Dynamic or Panthera Block design as this could be the baseline for future models. Just my idea, but, others here will have great input as well. Can't wait to hear about your decision.

I did consider the new design, but those seem to focus on slugs, rather than pellets, and 85% of my use will be in the 50 to 75yd range. I know the current runs of pellets seem to be sub par quality wise, but there's still a large price differential between the two, and most of my shooting would be non-competitive. Accuracy would be my primary objective, with usability a close second. Currently running a .22 Crown, but I'd like to move up to a .25 on the next rifle with hopes the larger caliber comes with better uniformity with regard to available ammo.

I have the .25 panthera hunter. I love it. It will shoot pellets or slugs very well. Most of my shots at pigeons is 75yds. When it is calm or light wind i use pellets. The quick tune system is very easy to find consistent tuning for going between pellets and slugs.

I have had it for almost 3 weeks and 0 reg creep so far. I leave it in my truck most of the time with out the case and haven’t had any poi shifting issues but it is getting pretty scratched up. The barrel is very stiff compared to my 2 mavericks.

I picked up the Vulcan 3 long in the hopes that I'll spend more time shooting rather than tuning. I have an FX Crown that's taken about a year and a few aftermarket purchases to get to the point where I'm happy with the way it's performing. I'm limited to shooting at the range once a week so I'd like to spend that time developing my shooting skills.
