Tuning Maximus 22 cal with TKO moderator & barrel Band

Just got the TKO 6.5 inch moderator amd i have 2 questions.

1. I applied slight pressure to the TKO set screw to fasten it. Groupings after install are just as tight as before but were down and to the left about 2" at 20 yards. Adjusted scope and its now on target. Why did the zero point move with TKO installed?

2. Can someone help me understand the barrel band mod? Maybe link to a vid?

If anyone is wondering about getting the moderator, i was skeptical. After shooting before and after, it is a great option. The before / after sound is remarkably quieter. I think i paid $55 including shipping. Got it in a week. If you have any questions, email TKO and Mike will help you. Great service and i love this rifle for backyard shooting now.

One more question.

I saw a video for a magazine you can install on the Maximus. Anyone know where to buy it?

I was just looking at some magazines for the Maximus.I seen them on eBay. I just googled multi shot magazine for Crossman guns and it had some on eBay so I looked at them. They will fit The Crossman 2240 CO2 pistol and also the Benjamin maximus. The only other option is to put a whole new breach on it that will take the rotary magazine. Going that route is a little expensive. I’m thinking about buying one for my Maximus.They come from England. There are several places over there that have them. And the prices are a little different. The one I was looking at was just a little over $30.

GRAVmag Magazine is here and says it fits the Discovery and Maximus guns as well as the 22xx.

Gmac has a breech for the Maximus, looks like a copy of the BNM, and if the Maximus takes the same breech as the 22xx guns then so does Exclusive and Custom Air. They are spendy though and the Exclusive and Custom air will take some DIY machining on the barrel to fit the breech.

Although for the money you might be better of just selling the gun and buying a Fortitude.

My 22 Fortitude (17fpe) is pretty weak in power compared to my 22 Maximus (24fpe). My Fortitude does get more shots but my RWS 54 spring gun (23fpe) has a lot more power than my Fortitude and Even gets better groups at 100 yards. At 100 yards I get more consistent spinner target hits with my Maximus compared to my Fortitude as well.

If you can put the Fortitude breech on top of the Maximus lower that's what I would do.
