maximus .22

i just got a new benjamin maximus .22 off cabelas with the center point scope combo for 207 bucks and i am just curious on a few things. First iv read a few places that says that the threaded muzzle would not be available in US and mine has a threaded muzzle. just thought it was odd.
second i was curious what i would need to fill it with co2 since i dont have the money to get a pump right now and been reading that it is possible to fill the maximus with co2 but i cant find much about it, thanks in advance just hoping to get shooting asap whether i go the pump route and possibly find a used pump or a co2 fill setup. i have had it over 2 weeks now and i hate not being able to shoot it
thank you

Congrats on your new gun! First let me say I don't bulk fill with Co2, but I did look into it as I own a couple of Co2 tanks. You'll need a Co2 tank (you can probably find a used paintball tank) and a bulk fill adapter like this- http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Benjamin_CO2_Air_FIll_Adapter_Fits_Benjamin_Air_Tank_or_Standard_Paintball_CO2_Tank/2153
You won't get the power from C02 that you will with compressed air, but you'll get LOTS of shots.

You may find by the time you get all the gear you need you might as well have bought a pump. Try placing a WTB ad here on the classifieds, just about everyone has a pump but very few use them much as it's a fair bit of work to fill the 3000 psi guns. The Maximus will probably do best filled to 1800 psi which will be very doable with a pump. Another possibility would be a used Scuba tank which will work great for the Discovery, you'd need a fill set up like this-http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Air_Venturi_Scuba_Tank_Yoke_K_Valve_Adapter_Hose_Assembly_1_8_BSPP_Threads/534 you'll also need the quick-release-

Probably the cheapest way to get going will be a used pump IMO-good luck!

I don't want to labor the point, but just to make sure you understand...
You don't have to have a scuba tank filled "every time you want to shoot". A normal scuba tank can be filled to 3300psi. Since the fill pressure on the Maximus is 200psi with a comparattively tiny reservoir, this means you will shoot thousands of rounds before you have to have the scuba tank refilled. It does mean, however, that if you're spending a few hours target shooting, you will want the tank close at hand.

That said, some guys prefer pumps and that's fine with me.

Hey guys it's been awhile since I've been on here but the Maximus has been sitting in the box still not shot once since I've had it but I have gotten around to looking at buying a pump finally and am curious about what pump to get, Im trying to stay under or around 150 bucks or so but I was looking at the Air Venturi G7s and it's cheap enough but I can't find any reviews or posts on them. Does anyone have any experience with the G7s or know of any other in my budget

"Saltlake58"As for the threading on the barrel - did you get the European version? It's the sub-12 foot pound version. I understand that one may have the threaded barrel.

I have thought the same thing. Really hope it's not since it's been 2 years since I got it from Cabela's and there's probably no way of returning it this long after. I kinda recall seeing somewhere there's a hunter version too that has the threaded barrel and comes with a centerpoint scope just like mine has so I've always assumed it was the hunter version

The "Hunter Combo" has a threaded adapter on it and is full power for the U.S. the "12fpe" model also has one, hunter comes with no sights also.

Should run on Co2 but the orings may swell then need changing to Co2 comparable orings, or they may be fine.

I own the taousa hand pump, outstanding! Comes with 3 sets of spares ( scary at first but haven't needed one seal yet) and tool that you don't need, hand tighten all fitting and no leaks, nice. Had it over 1 year, lent it to a friend who was just getting started with 3 pcp's who used it a good bit I rate it a value.

This will be cheaper and practical than CO2 set up. I have the same pump I got in Dec2016 and even got spare o-rings and stuff. So far I haven't used any o-ring or ball check and all i do is silicon grease the tubes. I've opened up my pcp's and so far so good. Pumping has become an exercise to me so I shoot my pcp's so i can pump them up again. Once you find your mojo pumping it's easy. I use my body wt to pump and not rabbit pace.
