Tuning Maximus/Challenger trigger install help

I seen the video of a guy putting one in a Benjamin discovery. Haven’t seen one yet putting it in a maximus. Pretty sure they’re the same as far as install. There was a website where you Could buy the trigger with the trigger guard or without. And With or without the Shim also. If you don’t have the shim, you can make one out of a credit card.I don’t remember the website though. Wait for ODoyle To come along with his expert advice.

The Challenger trigger guard works good, but you will have to hog out the stock a bit, to make it work. You will need to get a screw to mount the guard. I bought a dome head brass screw from the hardware store and it worked but I had to file a little off the dome for the stock to fit right. It all looks good when done and the trigger is great. You do need a shim as mentioned above. Good luck with your worthwhile project.

Discos R Us But they are temporarily not in business. see main page.

Along with the challenger guard, he use to sell a 3D printed one. The stock will need a little modification for trigger and guard.

The maximus air tube does not have a threaded hole where the challenger does, to mount the guard. You would have to completely dis-assemble, drill and tap hole, and make a relief in valve. What many do, is just tap the hole in the trigger assy.

You may or may not have excessive sear drag and need the thin shim. In my expiernence, didn't need it with a disco/maximus hammer, but did with the Prod/Challenger hammer.

If you have problems with the action rocking slightly in the stock after your trigger install here is photo of what I did to solve the problem. Its just a short piece of wood dowel siliconed into place and painted black. I made the dowel just slightly short and put a pad of silicone under the dowel to squish and adjust the dowel to the correct length while the silicone was still uncured. Then set the gun aside for a day for it it set.
