I'm beginning to think that my pellets are off. Most of my other pellets (.22 and .25) were purchased as long ago as 4 years. These .177's are brand new and they may be suffering from a little quality control issue.Hi kyPop, I have recently received a .177 Taipan veteran and it loves the jsb 10.34 from 940 down to 800fps thas as low as I've gotten so far. 890fps would be a good place to start that seemed to be the sweet spot for me.

Thanks. I think you may have hit the nail on the head. Sounds a lot like my issue. I sent Tony the pics I posted here yesterday with the targets and stats and he said it looks like a pellet issue, too. Especially since I eliminated the scope from the equation. He said he was going to try to find some different pellets for me to try. The Air Arms sounds like a good start.I would try some 10.3 grain in the FX, Air Arms or JSB. They should group well at 880-900. I know JSB makes all these pellets, but I specifically asked AA if they were the same via email. I received a reply stating that JSB made the pellets but AA had their own mold that was very slightly different from the JSB one and was used to manufacture their pellets only. I don’t know about FX but they might own their own molds as well. I will also offer to send you some of each if you want to give that a try and I know all of these shoot well in my Taipan. I did have one tin of JSB’s that were absolutely horrible a few months back. It would print a much larger than normal group and then send a flyer about 3” right or left. I ended up using all of those for tin can plinking, so a bad batch of pellets are possible.
Purchased jsb 10.34 within the last 6 months I also have the fx 10.34 they hit the same hole as the jsb pellets. How old are your pellets? Mine .177's are new and my others (.22 and .25) are as old as 4 years. I'm suspecting quality control on the new ones.
I hope you find a pellet your barrel likes I think you'll be good with the 10.34 Fx .Just ordered a tin each of Air Arms 8.4 and 10.3 and a tin each of FX 8.4 and 10.3. Hopefully one of those will get me on the right track. At the end of all this testing I'll have a lot of .177 pellets for sale!
