Michigan small game opener!

Only had a couple hours to hunt this afternoon on opening day.

Cloudy and 72° and the squirrels were staying in the tree canopy. Saw 6 and got two not so bad for the first day.

JSB Hades and the old trusty FX Thor at 860 fps scored a couple clear shots! one was at 61 yards... both head shots!

Love to see squirrel hunting! Reminds me of waking up after staying the night at papaws house! Heading out in the crisp morning and walking the trails, papaw with his old Browning 12 gauge semi auto. I’lll be hitting to woods this year, can’t wait to take the impact out.

Side note, what do you all use to combat the deer ticks? Haven’t been out for a few years, last time I went I got plum ate up with those damn tick bites I vowed to stay out of the woods until all the ticks froze.

Thanks for the post!

Nice pair and a even nicer looking rifle!

Just waiting for it to cool off here in middle Tennessee.

Thanks for the inspiration!
