Is there a rough way to determine barrel length vs fpe at a given pressure? Lets say you want to make 100fpe in .25 at 150 bar. Obviously 10” barrel is out, and 35” is over kill. Looking into a future project is all.
i doubt over 16" or so is doing much for you, but im guessing you can vary fps 100 or so fps per inch variation on a given setup .. its going to matter most on how much air you can move from point a to point b when the valve is smacked .. theres usually inherent limiters in the design ..
Pay close attention to the term ‘lofty’ goal when choosing a barrel length. There are quite a few qualifiers in there. As an example, weight of projectile.
I would add some length to the barrel so your target energy is easily reached while still maintaining efficiency.
Derived from one of his articles, might be that one. Theoretical max power. Fun to play with. P(C(TP×3.14/4)×L/24) where P= pressure in psi, C=caliber in in and L=Barrel length in in
