Mini shooting tri pod question?

I am looking at getting a mini Arca tri pod to use with my epoch. Just curious if anyone has experience with one of the amazon ones such as this.

I know the Skout one is certainly solid as can be but it’s 150 bucks and these days often the amazon choices are pretty good on many things.

Im sure there are many brands made in the same factory, but I can tell you for sure the Leofoto brand are shockingly high built quality.

I have a Leofoto LS-223C and LS-223CEX both work great with light-midweight pcps but Heavier than ~8lbs would be better with the 55mm ball head. Prices are all over the place online, I got both of mine for about $70 shipped on ebay.

was looking around ..lots of mini tripods, but do not know if they will handle the weight
found one on alibaba if you don't mind waiting for delivery ..lots of them in there
Looks like it has the arca mount
They say "heavy duty" ..but that's maybe for cmaera weights not a rifle

I have the exact tripod. I swapped heads and put on a heavier Innorel N52. If you want to beef it up, you can disassemble the legs and pour in birdshot.

Would the stock head be good enough just for use as a front rest? Would use a bag at the rear. Don’t need it to support the whole gun.

Maybe. I had the Innorel as a back up head and decided that it held my 9 lb. gun btter than the stock head.
If I'm stooting target groups, I would prefer a rear bag of some sort.

I have one of the tripods you linked to in your original post. For my purposes it works just great with a Skout Epoch along with a rear bag (the PO of the Skout had installed their ARCA rail).

I find myself mostly using it fully splayed out, virtually flat on the bench. But have also used it with the legs clicked into their first 'up' position. In both of those positions it feels really solid - like more solid than when using an Accu-Tac bipod on other (Pic rail) guns.

But I'm mostly just a plinker using pellets - definitely not a competitive shooter, nor do I frequently shoot above 50-75 yards.

From my experience, the legs won't be an issue, no matter the brand. But the ball head will be your downfall. Unless you get a high quality ballhead with large ball/gripping surface, the gun will want to move and shake no matter the rear rest. Here is my setup with an Arca Swiss ballhead and this is for pistol.

Like Mike said above....I have a couple Siriui tripods and monopods, they are similar in quality to Leofoto which is excellent. And, like rsfrid said above, the ball head will be the determining factor in stability and Leofoto makes excellent ball heads.

A lot of tripods will tell you what weight they are rated at. I have been curious myself. Let us know what you decide on.

The SIRUI AM223 which i have also eyeballed is rated for 10 kilos, so plenty for any rifle i have.
Sorry that's the MAX load for their ball head, the tripod itself are rated for 15 kilos.
