MinWax wipe on Poly Gunstock refinish video

Dan very few of the FWB rifles are of collector interest . But when someone has one they want me to restore I make SURE they realize they are potentially killing its value . Once they know that , they almost always reconsider :)
Willie it dries VERY fast . That's why you can't touch it up as you go . You have to just go over an area once and if you miss a spot you just have to catch it on the next coat . It gets tacky that fast . Even here in the humidity capital of the world we live in it still dries fast !!
It is so even because its SO thin . its like wiping alcohol on wood . It levels as soon as its applied. And I sanded lightly between coats with progressive fine r sandpaper.

How long between coats before you could sand

Initially I sealed it with MinWax wood sealer . Then scotch brite wood to smooth .. Applied two coats , then sanded with 400 grit paper lightly , two more coats , then sanded with 600grit , two more coats , then sanded with 800 grit . Then applied final two coats and let it harden for 2 days . I will probably wax it in a week or two to kinda help protect the finish
