Missing my Coyote kill shots

Well im kind of beating myself up here because i've shot at now 4 coyotes without having anything to show for it.

I ran across a fresh doe that had been hit by a car the night before so i brought her back home and staked her into the ground and waited patiently for the yotes to come. It took exaclty 2 weeks for coyotes to come running by and take an interest. I had to cut her open on about the 10th day as just about nothing messed with her other than a vulture or a random possum. After cutting her open, the next day about 11 vultures picked her open and I was hoping that she would start to smell more for the coyotes to come around to her. I waited a few more days and then I actually just got tired of waiting and upgraded to a Foxpro X24 and went to give it a go last night. I called for a little over an hour with no response from any yote, just some neighbors dogs. I called it a night and ended up bringing everything into my house as I am just baiting in my backyard but have set up motions and my trail cam to alert me if anything comes in. I ended up throwing up the camera on my spot monitor to check out if anything came and then looked up to find these 3 big boy coyotes.

I scrambled up the stairs to a window up there and got my rifle out the window and got their attention but as i shot, the coyote went back in for another bite of the doe. Bummer. I ended up getting a follow up shot off at the same coyote and must have hit him in the chest/lungs area. I went looking but i didnt see any blood trail from where i got the guy. Went looking this morning and still nothing.

in the beginning of the first video, one coyote pees near the doe and the others are rubbing their scent all around it. They did come back (2 of them) 6 hours later at 6 am. I hopped out of bed and opened the window but a sound spooked him and he ran. Im wondering if they will come back as there is still plenty of doe left and they know its a meal, but wondering if they still trust the area enough.

I am shooting 64 Grain Griffin slugs out of my Gauntlet .30 With a AGM TS19-256 Rattler Thermal scope and a Ronin Donny FL.

Tough to do a head shot with all of the constant movements. Since you have a 30 cal. if you don't mind if they run off maybe 30 yards you can use an easier double lung shot.

You need more stakes they almost pulled the doe off.
That's my vote too. Take a heart lung and let him go bury himself elsewhere. The .30cal is well suitedto get the job done.
