The use of Mk (mark) and (mod) designations - As in MK1 Mod1 - came about via the military industrial complex during wartime when constant changes to ordnance and its related support equipment was happening at a ridiculous pace.
Did you know you can also upgrade your bodies optical sensors/ eyeballs through training?
Case in point.
We all know that in field target, especially Hft, our scopes 16X magnification level, greatly restricts our ability to accurately range from 35-55 yards. This is also where most of the holdover errors and thus missed shots may occur - at least in my experience.
What you may not know, is you can set up an optical course (courses) and by moving your body closer and further from your course, you can practice and improve your ability to guestimate those dicey distances much better. You can then use your scope to validate your field of vision “guess”, and compare results again and again but you have to move around frequently.
It’s a skill that takes practice and you can start in lots of ways and in various lighting conditions. The more you practice the better you will get!
