Hatsan Mod 95 .22 breach question

The H&N FTT 14.3 are what all my rifles like. JSB too. The JSB might be better at longer ranges. They both shoot too close to tell at 25. The H&N are available in a few head sizes. The JSB have a wide array of weights and lengths. The Diana and HW don't care much what you feed them as long as its between 13 and 17 grains and has JSB or H&N on the label. The CP domes shoot well too. Just not as consistently as the others.

I shoot the CP domes in the Hatsans. Some are loose, some are tight but most fit pretty good. They pattern as well as the others do offhand. I don't really know which pellet patterns best in the Hatsan. I gave up trying to shoot tight little groups on paper early on. It shot well enough for my purposes with the CP domes and I haven't dug much further than that.

My buddy shoots a Hatsan 95 from a rest and he swears the JSB 15.89 shoot better than the Crosmans. He can't shoot worth a crap so there is that. If I was going on an accuracy journey with a Hatsan 95 I'd probably start there. If a tight bore was an issue I might go to an H&N with the 5.52 or 5.53 head size. The Hatsan shoots faster than my other rifles so something on the heavy side around 18 grains might be the sweet spot. But that is just assumption based on very little experience.

The walnut is good. I'm not sure it's worth the extra you pay but it is nice. I used steel wool with a little danish oil on it. Then paste waxed it. It polishes up really nice in your hands.

I hope yours has some figuring. I hear some guys griping about them being plain. It's a crap shoot I guess. Mine didn't have much character when I took it out of the box. A little oil and some hand rubbing brought out the grain nicely. Any piece of wood can be improved upon with a little elbow grease. Hand rubbed walnut looks great even if it is a bland piece of wood. I'm sure you will be happy with it.

I had ordered the 95L and they were backordered. I got the walnut because I didn't have to wait two weeks. I'm a pretty thrifty guy and I don't usually go for the more expensive stocks but I figured what the heck. I'm happy I went ahead and got the walnut. It's a sweet little gun.

My son loves to shoot it. It's too pretty for me to shoot. I mostly just look at it and brag about it.

I asked for a stock that has unique grain pattern. They said no problem. Time will tell. I’ll be happy with it regardless.
