Hatsan Mod 95 .22 breach question

Every pellet I’ve tried is hard to seat in the breach. Not any of my other air rifles are like that.

Is this normal with the Mod 95 Votex in .22 cal?

Pictured is the pellets I’m trying out

I have a month old 95N .22 and H&N 5.52 fit fine. I did shoot some Crosman HP’s and they were pretty tight. They shot fine though I didn’t shoot them for groups yet, just plinking. I haven’t tried any JSB’s or other brands yet.
I think the OP is referring to a Hatsan, not a Weihrauch.

Is it a .177?
Kidding; a tight breech is better than a loose breech because you can always loosen the tight breech. There are probably better methods, but I sanded the breech using patch-sized strips of 150 grit sandpaper followed by 800 grit, wound around a smaller stick that fits in the breech. I mostly sand round and round but in and out might be better, and don't sand from just one position relative to the gun or barrel, keep turning it so it gets sanded evenly. Patch clean from the _muzzle_ end and test for fit every time you need to change out clogged strips of sandpaper.
Good luck!

In my Vortex 95 .22cal, I mainly use the JSB 15.89's, also the Crosman 14.3, and the H&N FTT 14.66 gr pellets. All seat nice and firm with finger pressure, no problems at all. The only thing I can think of is your breech is somewhat tighter than "normal" for some reason. Not sure what to tell you, perhaps our more knowledgeable airgunsmiths have some suggestions for you to try. I see BMike has opined that some sanding may be in order?

Good to know
The platform can be made to shoot much better. It has a 48. WTF. 😳 coil spring that’s to soft. Shorten to 40 coils add 1.125 delrin plug for space and Re guide with longer tighter guide. Re seal with tighter seal,( I made mine as all 27 mm seals are junk parachute ) and depending if it’s adjustable port set at 3.3 mm to 3.4 mm. Replace front two trigger screws with longer and the gun will transform into a calm 17 to 19 ft lb shooter.
The Quattro is a great trigger. Every bit as good as a Rekord at 1 lb and up as most hunting guns should be.
My re barreled .25 Turkish Tommy ( same gun as a 95). Is doing 17 ft lbs now

I may Re barel it again to .22.
I hated the .177 it was .. not shot wise just hate the caliber.

I have two Hatsan 95’s in 22 caliber. One in 25 and one in 177 also. All are tight fitting. I did relieve the breach with a small bevel to accept the skirt to flush. It helped.
Thanks for the reminder BG. The breaches on all mine were just hard, straight edges. Member of another forum suggested using a Dremel #952 stone turned by hand to bevel the breech. Got one and took my time, but it took that edge off and made loading easier.
Might also try using something to seat your pellets. Seen where any number of shooters use just the cap of a Bic pen to seat pellets. Search posts here, probably any number of good ideas for what to use.

This sounds like what mine needs.
Mine leaves about a 16th of the skirt not seated . The other issue I’ve noticed while shooting it yesterday. It sounds and feels like part of the cocking mechanism is rubbing the wood stock. I’m hoping it wears itself in. But guessing I’ll have to take it off and do a little sanding
