The thickness of the Velcro straps I use is quite thin (the photo only shows where it is doubled up). Although the fit to the cylinder is snug, it does not hinder the cylinder’s installation or removal in any way. I like your method also but a more permanent solution which I wanted to avoid. Even though mine is the HP version, when combined with a STO Falx I find it easily quiet enough for back yard use.I went a step further and took this thin brass sheeting (a little thicker than aluminum foil) and used a little 3M spray adhesive on it to stick it down over the 3 ports drilled in the upper barrel on my LP50-RF. The clearance is so tight between the "shroud / barrel surround" and the barrel that's the only thing that would fit and still let me slip it back on.
I couldn't use something like @stoutblock is showing in his picture because there isn't enough clearance between the air cylinder and the bottom of the "shroud / barrel surround" for the velcro straps to pass through. VERY tight clearance on mine.
Anyway, it does block off the air from escaping but the pistol, but, even with a Weihrauch moderator on it is still louder than I'm comfortable with for "backyard friendly".
For a pistol that's tuned to 4.8 fpe, it sure lets out a heck of a crack when you pull the trigger.
