Moderator clipping question

Hello friends,

I suspect I have a clipping issue on new 600mm barrel setup. Mod is a Donny FL Ryu .22 with QD mount. The mod and mount were on my FX dreamline 500mm .22 and zero issues over 750 shots. Bought a 600mm .22 barrel for the same Dreamline and trying to shoot light slugs. Slugs are flying in crazy clockwise arc and hitting low. Without the moderator I can now get some groups. I have taken the moderator apart and closely inspected everything. Will there be visual evidence of "clipping"? What am I looking for? Thanks.

It honestly doesn't look like it grouped any better without the mod. Just more shots in that group. The overall center to center spread looks the same +/- as the 3-4 shot groups. I'd say it's probably the slugs, because those are very loose groups for 35yrds. Someone with experience with that gun and slugs could definitely help you more than myself. The mod on the barrel will often shift your POI lower.

What liner are you using?

With the superior 600 .218 HN HP 21-23, same for Zan and best of all griffin .218 should be packed into one ragged hole or roughly .5"cloverleaf
never tried .217 with the FX .22 liners because i had such fantastic results with the .218 or .2175.

Do you have the STX style liner lock or the Superlight barrels?

IS there a nut on the front you have to loosen in order to pull the liner, or must you remove the shroud and loosen a locknut on the shroud/Barrel connector?

It is an STX

I might suggest increasing your reg pressure. 150 bar seems to be a reoccurring theme in fx guns for me. My stock 25 dreamline on pellets is at 150, so is my turned up 22 impact that likes 23g and 34g within that tune . They just ended up liking that pressure for the type of tune I was looking for and precision .

2 other friends mavericks and dreamlines are around there too. Light slugs and pellets.

Standard liners have a tighter choke and have tended to favor smaller diameter and softer alloy slugs ime.

Stx superior can shoot lighter slugs really well in .22 17-21 gr. can shoot fantastic .218 Slug hp, griffin LDC .218, and NSA 17.5 .2175

if It’s an stx barrel version I have no idea. I’ve only ever had super light barreled dreamline and crown
I own one. They do till they don't. 23 gr 217 javelin is where mine stopped playing. My choke didn't like Nielsons alloy. I'm also asking 150 yards minimum precision.

If you go heavy liner, they typically won't like pellets beyond monster redesigns in my experience. I'd try just more pressure before spending a cent on anything or changing parts tho.
