I run the Shogun on my Impact 30 700mm. Shooting the 44gr pellets at about 922fps
pretty quiet, not mouse fart , not that anything would be at that speed , but pretty quiet
not much louder that my other Impact 22 shooting slugs with the Donny FL that came on it as a package
i would buy it again. Not sure this helps but there it is

Neil Clague made mine. It's totally silent - hammer slap and target ring is the loudest part of firing it. And awesome looking. I might even be interested in selling it as he is making me a one piece shroud/LDC for it now. It's finished and ought to be here next week. If all goes according to plan I may be interested in selling the original LDC he made me. Very pretty piece. Here's a pic of the gun.

Please forgive me, but this post begs the question.....
You called the manufacturer for a recommendation about his products.
He recommended one item over the other and gave an acceptable reason as to why.
And because there has been no review of the recommended item you are questioning his recommendation over the one you had your heart set on?
Who better to know his own products than the guy who makes them?
I have no allegiance to Donnie. I do not own nor have I ever have owned one of his moderators. Nothing against his products. A bunch of guys that do, swear by them. Even FX Airguns selected his moderators to install and ship on their guns to US distributors. If that's not a shout out to the performance and quality of Donnie's moderators I don't know what is.....
Personally, I only have Neil's moderators. I've not owed a .30 Impact however I have owned a Evanix .30 with one of Neil's moderators and it made it very quiet. FWIW, it clocked 44 grains at 875fps.
Can't say I've ever put my DB meter on a mouse when it farted but I digress.

You can use the emperor, but you will need to make a barrel band to support the barrel
I am using the emperor plus extension on my DREAMLINE, and a barrel band is a must

And Donny adviced against the emperor plus extension setup initially, but after speaking with him about the need for backyard friendly, he agrees on barrel band as a compromise

You can add another extension on the existing Impact moderator as well. It is light and the other Xtra length quiets them down tremendously.

a barrel band is just something that supports the barrel
I made mine with some PVC pipes, some 1mm washers, and some epoxy to glue them all together

As you can imagine, the FX guns only have a single point of support for the barrel, at the very back
So it is very easy for the barrel to move, especially when there is a heavy weight at the muzzle
I started with a SUMO on my dream tac compact, But because of the short 380mm barrel, the SUMO was not quiet enough.
I need something that i can comfortably toy with in my backyard without upsetting neighbors
So i settled with emperor + extension, which is crazy quiet: i only hear the action of the hammer and gas hissing within the internal of the action, but nothing from the end of the barrel
to be honest, the extension is not needed, the emperor itself is plenty quiet. You can see on donny's website that the emperor is significantly heavier than his other suppressors. That is because, instead of using dampening wool, the emperor have actual aluminium (i think) internal chambers just like those used for firearms, so there is alot more metal and so much heavier

Ronin with end caps fits nicely on several here.30 carnivore break barrel gets it's lip zipped easily
Uses are endless with the Ronin.
