Because of the noise level on my new FX King in 30 caliber, I purchased from Utah Airguns a Yokozuna moderator. I went through numerous video watching on Youtube about this and the quick disconnect. I am experiencing some very severe accuracy issues that I will research later but for now I will tell you about what I ran into that really alarmed me.
I installed the quick disconnect and then the moderator and shot it. I was completely missing the target at 25 yards which was on an 18x18 inch piece of plywood. I decided to remove the moderator and just shoot it stock to check the accuracy. So I disconnect the moderator and remove it. Then I go to remove the quick disconnect and the piece in the barrel came out with it. No problem I'm thinking...I take the part in my hand and to my suprise it has basically seized itself to the moderator quick disconnect. I'm trying really hard to seperate these two pieces but with no success, and I am NOT about to use any sort of tool to try and take them apart. After letting the part sit for a while, and coming back to the problem with dryer hands, and maybe a better head on my shoulders, I was able to seperate them.
So here is my question...To avoid this issue again, should I put a very small amount of something like neverseize on the threads of the rifle before I install the quick disconnect??
I know that when I put the disconnect on in the first place that I ONLY finger tightened it. I don't know how it became so tight on the rifle. Maybe possibly from shooting the rifle.
I don't really know. But it really got tight.
Anyone ever experience this? And if so, what did you do to solve this issue?
Thanks, Gene from Pa.
