Moderator Question

Wondering about the male end of my 0DB that came with BRK Atomic XR. I'm new to the PCP world so please excuse my ignorance. I see all moderators come with a female end. My 110C has a male end. I assume it's removable. If so, how is it removed? I tried unscrewing it, but no go. Couldn't find much with my initial searching. If someone can enlighten me, that'd be really helpful.

I have been successful with 2 different methodes. See photo.
Take a 1/2-20 nut and saw a slot through it. Run a 1/2-20 bolt through it, or a tap to clean up threads inside of nut. Then screw onto moderator, then squeeze 90° to the slot. Don’t go to crazy on the squeeze, try to undo it by turning moderator.
Method two might be difficult because the threaded portion of moderator is short.
You’ll need two 1/2-20 nuts that are kinda thin and a washer. Thread one nut onto moderator, then the washer, then the second nut. Second nut can be a regular length but won’t screw on all the way because of the short moderator thread. Anyway, tighten the nuts as tight as possible against the washer. Remember, the moderator thread is most likely aluminum so you don’t want to strip it. Once nuts are tightly sandwhiching the washer you can use a thin wrench to slip on the nut closest to the moderator body. Hopefully the part will break free.
Good luck.

Ordered some 1/2-20 thin jam nuts and am crossing my fingers.
Don't have this gun but consider the threads that go into shroud, might not be 1/2x20, like on the other end which fits into moderator. My Chinese-made JTS Airacuda is all metric except for 1/2x20 moderator threads, which are kind of universal. When I removed my shroud end cap, the threads were metric and finer than 1/2x20 threads. Might need to search metric, fine threaded nuts in hardware store. WM

Definitely don't need anymore surprises. Thankfully I confirmed with AoA that the threads are indeed 1/2". I appreciate the heads up though.

No problem, had a similar issue when removing shroud end cap from Airacuda, think I had a few more threads to work with, though. Used two nut method but had to warm up glue holding shroud cap with hair dryer. Best of Luck, WM

@Seanbuds Damn man. That was quite the ordeal. Glad to read that you were able to remove it. Did you damage anything in the process?
No kidding about going through all this trouble. Scuffed the surface of a few threads, but not too bad. Still functions okay. Grateful that AoA were prepared to send me a new one if needed. Now I'm anxiously waiting for my new Brocock MF170 to arrive.
