Moderator Questions

I have a kalibrgun cricket 2. I would say its moderately loud. I would like to make it less noise

Two questions should I get a .25 calibur moderator instead of a .22 to reduce the chance of clipping? What are pros and cons of this thinking?

Anyone have experience with this brand? Seems very afforadble compared to other options ive looked at.

Here is my gun. Doesnt say anything about a moderator.

I have a .22 should I get a .22 or the .25 would a make any diffrence in noise?
Do you have a .25 also ? only reason to use a .25 on a .22 ( or maybe you have plans to buy a .25 later ?) as far as the mod go's it should not make much of a a difference .

No dont own one, its my only PCP I either read it or somone told me that I should get a .25.to potentially prevent the clipping effect. Just curious what others thoughts are.

I have two DonnyyFL Tatsu's.

One for .22 cal., and one mistakenly sent to me, for .25 cal.
On the same...gun, the .25 Tatsu is slightly, but noticeably louder.

I try to buy suppressors made for the .22 cal., for my .22 guns.

Hope that answers your question...at least by one persons experience.

Mike
Yeah thanks for the input. I'm gonna get the .22 version

I have a couple 3D printed moderators. In my opinion, because they’re basically plastic you should take it on and off as little as possible. The threads wear very rapidly and when that happens the concentricity can be affected and clipping can occur. But, the 3D printed ones are very inexpensive so when it gets sloppy it is disposable.
I would prefer a 3D printed one with a metallic threaded insert. I always orient my barrel straight up when installing a moderator so that the weight of the moderator doesn’t let gravity weigh down on the minimal thread engagement.
YMMV

I bought a Buck-Rail in .22 so will see how it works. I went shooting this weekend and a new friend has similar gun with a moderator and wow did it quite things down. His moderator made it sound extremely quite. Will be curious to see how this one stacks up.

Does a moderator impact performance in any way? I saw someone say they have to resight? Is that more of an issue of clipping? Besides making less noise what are if any other effects?
